Never heard of it, I thought El Shaddai was what Jewish people called God? I shall google it and return post haste.

is one of the Judaic names of God. El Shaddai is conventionally translated as God Almighty.

While the translation of El as "god" is straightforward, the literal meaning of Shaddai is the subject of debate.

This is Japan....whose main strategy is to search Wikipedia (as I did) and then turn it into...<insert anime/manga/video game/hentai>

I have no interest in this....arty....religious....platform combat game
Actually El Shaddai literally translates from Hebrew as God (El - god) of my breasts (Shaddai - my breasts). It is an aspect of the Hebrew/Christian god as a god of fertility - usually called upon by women in the Bible (wouldn't make much sense to be said by a man). Similar to El Tsvaot - God of armies (this one is usually used by men).
Ofcoure the japanese just look up a cool sounding name without bothering for 5 minutes to find what it actually means (looking at you sephiroth).

Just looked up the trailer. Color me interested. Though I'll probably wait for the price to drop a bit.

I love artsy, kind of pretentious stuff like this so I'm all over it.

I'm in the to many games boat right now. I'm playing Catherine, Clash of Heroes, and Shira Oka: Second Chances all right now. There is no way I'll get them all done before El Shaddai comes out, but I'll most likely pick it up right away anyway.

I'd get it if the ad didn't pop up on my screen every time I loaded a fucking page.
As it stands I've just asssociated the game with straight up pissing me off at this point.

When I played the demo, I honestly thought it was going to be a PSN/XBLA download title for a price range between $15-$20. I thought it looked neat but that quality wasn't that great to me. So I was pretty surprised when I say ads displaying it as a full game for $60.

I played the demo and it seemed like a decent devil may cry gameplay style rip off with artsy graphics. I didn't feel there was much to the gameplay just stylish hack and slash with no purpose. The game didn't really grab my interest especially when I learned it was a full fledged game and not a xbla title.

The story escpecially seemed to be way out there and I had no idea what was happening, and it was a demo but that is actually worse because a demo should show an overall representation of the final product and what I saw was a confusing mess of a story that is trying too hard to be indie.

In short I don't plan on buying it, I also don't think it was bad it just wasn't for me.

Is it just me, or does this game look progressively worse every time the ad for it comes up? The last time I saw it on here I chuckled at "the most anticipated game of the year"

I would if I could. When it comes out, I'm going to be packing for a long family trip AND for college, leaving me little time to play a $60 game for a system that I can't take with me to college. I hope it gets good reviews, because I have a hunch that it's going to surprise people.

It's way over advertised.

I have the same reaction to the current ad. I would think Skyrim would be "the most anticipated game of the year" Think we've even had a few polls on here that shows it in the lead by wide margin.

Yeah no buy here.

I played the demo for it on the PlayStation network and well it is pretty the game play is pretty run of the mill and extremely simple, based off that I can't imagine the game being able to hold my attention for very long.

I plan on it. I played the demo and liked it well enough, so I will, but not when it comes out though. I have enough games to playthrough right now, but it's going to get bought.

I'll probably get it once it hits the $10 range. It looks like it would be fun for a few hours.
