Yes, brains are essential. Unfortunately, I also find naive stupidity a bit of a turn on. Not something to settle on though. If you can't talk with your partner, you won't stay together.jockslap said:In my life ive been on a few dates, and met a few women, and honestly i must say, if i cant carry on a conversation with a chick i dont want any buisiness with her. But i wondered this...does anyone else find brainpower sexy?
the most intelligent person I know does all of those things, and doesn't have a well paying job.Inverse Skies said:Care to elaborate?UNKNOWNINCOGNITO said:No there notInverse Skies said:they're better at decision making as well.
They're less likely to make stupid decisions such as binge drinking, smoking and gambling with a better education and higher intelligence. Statistically they're also more likely to be in a well paying job as well.
Hence the powers of statistics - statistically she's less likely to do any of those things but there will always be outliers and those which don't conform to the bell curve.Altorin said:the most intelligent person I know does all of those things, and doesn't have a well paying job.
he has an IQ of 180, and he's a complete bum.
a bum with grand ideas and a heart of gold
but a bum none the less.
all of those things take a lot more then intelligence, they take a drive to be a better person then you are, and that's something that smart people and dumb people have in equal quantities.

I really hope I bump into one some day...
How do these things have any relavance to a person's intelligence at all?jockslap said:let me change the tone, because i beleive i may not have expressed my thoughts properly, i meant the truly stupid. Common sense smart counts too, if all she can talk about is the Jonas Brothers and Miley's newest escapades, and also about how she tottaly went to the mall with her girlfriends and they where totes hyped...i meant that kinda stupid, and if that was a really wierd mashup of scentences i didnt intend it that way, im just dead tired.

If someone likes certain kinds of music or likes going to the mall, that makes them stupid?
I understand if that doesn't interest you, but it has nothing to do with intelligence. You're going by stereotypes. I know plenty of girly girls like that who arent stupid at all, and also some of the nicest girls I know.
True, actually my best friend is a typical girly girl, but the nicest person I ever met in my life. I also won't call her stupid, far from it, I think she's pretty damned intelligent. However, there is a difference in being intelligent and knowing much stuff. She doesn't know a lot of stuff, nor is she interested in a broad spectrum of topics, but I can clearly see she's really intelligent (how she manages to remember a crapload of phone numbers...I don't know, but she rocks with math anyway). But then again she's 15, so she still has to grow up a lot, that's also why she does a lot of stupid things, it's the age.AverageJoe said:How do these things have any relavance to a person's intelligence at all?jockslap said:let me change the tone, because i beleive i may not have expressed my thoughts properly, i meant the truly stupid.
