Die Hard is an anytime movie, just like The Hebrew Hammer. "Christmas Movie" seems to mean movies that are only shown around Christmas, well, to me at least.

Fact - more families of people I know watch Die Hard at Christmas than a form of A Christmas Carol.

I watch both - Die Hard, a Muppet's Christmas Carol and an exchange of small gifts before going to bed are the three traditions in our house.

A "Christmas Movie" is something that is about the values that Christmas represents, not about stopping terrorists during an office christmas party. Now don't get me wrong, i love Die Hard, it's a great movie, but it just isn't a Christmas movie, those are things like Rudolph, Frosty, or A Christmas Story.

What the hell have reindeer/elves/snowmen got to do with worshipping/fearing the winter/whichever local Pagan deity of your region, hoping for the spring and feeding yourself up for the coldest months ahead?

No film is based around the true meaning of Christmas these days. So I'll take a film set at Christmas, full of good actors and lots of gunfire/explosions over Will Farrell dressed as an elf, or some moron kid with a face you just want to punch, every single year.
