I think Brown has been very unfairly treated by the British media, he was left with the mess Blair made during his years as Prime Minister and was expected to clear it up single-handedly and now people are suprised that Britain has gone to shit?

That's BS in my opinion.

Their both twats in my honest opinion. A blind monkey could run the country better then those two.

I just think he's got really unlucky. First the economic crisis, which admittedly he could have helped contain in Britain when he was Chancellor, then the expenses scandal (which he reacted very relcutantly to) and then everyone quitting.

However I think ignoring that series of unfortunate events he wouldn't ever have been an outstanding PM really, he's just not a natural at it.

At first he was just unlucky. Then it became apparent that despite being a good Chancellor, he just wasn't PM material. He doesn't really know how to be the leader of a party - and let's not forget that the country is run by Labour, not by the PM. At the end of the day, Labour is tired as a party. They spend more time thinking of new scandals than anything else, and boy, don't the Conservatives love that

A good chancellor!!

He's the man that, amongst his many fuckups, sold 400 tonnes of our gold at its lowest price....shortly before the market trebled (and he was warned about it too!). Cost to the nation - £2bn.

He's a fucking disaster zone, same with Blair. Your poll is missing the 'they're both useless cunts' option.

Where is the option for "They both suck and our government has gone completely to hell."?

Seriously though, I really don't pay attention to politics. All I knows is that fuel is too expensive and there aren't enough jobs. So, whoever is responsible for that is the worst one.

Has he been treated unfairly sure what world leader dosent have negative media attention, but the man is incompotent, he is a bad pm. sure he was hit with shitty situations but it's not like he was not given the support or time needed, he has not acted like a leader in tough times and let the country rot. And he was an awful chancellor dont make any excuses for him selling of 60%f our gold reserves is something that will scar this country for years to come.

He was the worst thing to hit our country since the black death.

I'd still rather have Brown in control of the country than Cameron.

That said, it pisses me off we didn't actually elect him.

That's not a yes or no question :/

They're (they are) or you're referring to them possessing twats in some way shape or form, something I'm not too keen to discuss.

Well this being a troll thread aside, I think they're both equally as incompetent. However I don't see anybody who could do a better job at the moment, all the intelligent people seem to have gone into hiding - at least until this shitstorm that 'Dubya' created blows over.

Is Gordon Brown better or worse than Tony Blair?

that isn't a yes or no question.... yet those are your options.

edit: NINJA'D

I liked tony blair but I'm american and like people that work with us diplomatically rather than calling me cruel and hurtful things.

he's definitely worse than tony blair. i don't see him being able to adapt, and his public image is nothing short of woeful. to reiterate earlier points, he is not a natural PM, and this is most obvious to us the general public, in his appalling lack of media savvy. however, brown is a relatively honest prime minister (compared to blair and the probable future PM, david cameron) so i do have sympathy for him. the economic crisis is affecting everyone, and people who just blame the authority are either hilariously misinformed, or fucking morons.

the problem i have is this:
how should we know if david cameron is better or worse than gordon brown? after the initial optimism and rejuvenation of a new PM, who's to say he'll handle this any better? who's to say he won't make it worse? no-one can say, because he hasn't come out with any goddamn policies.

EDIT: is he better or worse? yes.

Yes you did. Despite the way people talk about general elections, you vote in the party you want to run the country, not the PM. The party is completely at liberty to choose who they want as thier leader. I find it curious that people get worked up about the PM and not Cabinet (Who they don't get to choose either)

Kind of this.

Ah, true. But when you vote for a party, you are given the name of the person who will be the PM if they do get voted into power. Therefore, some could argue that if they had been told straight up that Gordon Brown, not Tony Blair was running, they would've voted differently.

Also, the question of this thread is "Is Gordon Brown better or worse than Tony Blair?" and the two possible answers are yes and no. It doesn't make sense.

It's not asking you who was a good pm it is asking you who is better.

Well there a labour government who have failed the people, lined there nests whilst the economy has gone to hell, sent the poor to die in an illegal and immoral war which has increased racial tensions in Britain to such a point we may have another bought of race riots. We seem to have returned to seventies values with sky high fuel prices, wildcat strikes and a huge recession.

Once again, despite being more left wing than Stalin I find myself hankering for the savage yoke of a brutal Thatcherite.

To answer your question OP Blair was worse, he rose to power on a cushion of optimism that was akin to Obamas, he broke my political heart. I thought we were going to have a chance at equality and peace instead we have this sewer, where people blame things that are not to blame and dont take responsibility for anything.

Yeah Im angry!
