Poll: Is Green Lantern really that bad?

I went and saw Green Lantern today and found that I quite enjoyed the experience. However, when I got back I watched Moviebob's review I was told that it was meant to be very bad. Admittedly my knowledge of the Green Lantern story is limited to cartoons and the 2 recent Big Picture episodes and I get tricked off when Harry Potter movies do not do it right having read the books 4 of five times each. Does it only seem bad to those who read the comics or am I just the exception that proves the rule?

P.S. If it makes Moviebob feel better there were only 10 people besides me at the showing.

Excluding Moviebob the reviews on the film elsewhere (I check other reviews like Empire, Total Films and Comicvine) and they all say the film isn't that good (2/5 stars).

Yeah, you could tell that from the trailers. Green and purple? Bad comedy? Cheesy special effects? Yep.

This film has been getting scathing reviews across the board. It's a damn shame too.

I'm going to see it soon, and I'll let you know what I think.

Thats just moviebob, like most critics he doesnt look for redeeming qualities of film. There are 60 reviews on rotten tomatoes just like his. Maybe he wishes he was like yahtzee, at least yahtzees jokes are funny and tells you not to take his opinion to heart(unless he really means it)

The actual difference being that Moviebob's reviews are...actual reviews. And is nothing like Yahtzee.

Are people really going to do this? Because it's a little childish.

Or maybe he couldn't find any. Considering that he is a pretty avid comic book fan, I'm pretty sure he accurately portrays the majority of all viewers who will see the green lantern and if even he believes it isn't that great, then you can expect the same from plenty of comic book fans like him.

I was about to say the same thing actually. Just because a reviewer doesn't like the same movies as you do doesn't mean he's a cynic.

I enjoyed it... Though maybe that was just because a certain pink alien gets a yellow ring in the after credits scene...

I saw it and having limited knowledge of the source material, I found it to be adequate at best. After I see a movie I ask myself if I would willingly sit though it again and despite its flaws, I'd have to say I might.

Trying to invalidate the opinion of Moviebob and others by saying stuff like "maybe he's trying to be like Yahtzee (etc)".

As for this film, as a Green Lantern fan, I still have to watch it for myself, no matter how bad it is. But I'm so damn disappointed that it's getting scathing reviews across the board man.

It just looks terrible from the previews. Just terrible....

Go see Super 8. Shit was cache.
