Poll: Is it fair to call Top Gun gay?

Oh please. How could a movie where the male protagonists call each other cute nicknames, and play volleyball, and ride their phallic vehicles at extremely high speeds be anything but straight?

Er... not sure which side of the fence you're falling on here. Also how on earth is an F-14 phallic? it barely even has a nose! Maybe if they had a slo-mo scene of an in-flight refuelling, THEN they might have been phallic.

Seriously, the "MiG 28s" even fit the term better. And what would THAT say about the US if it was intentional symbolism?

Um... dude. I was just quoting a line from YGOTAM:BBT because that's essentially where this thread started from (seeing as how it started only a few days after it was uploaded to youtube). So... yeah... why so serious?

Pretty sure this thread didn't have anything whatsoever to do with YGOTAM:BBT- firstly because I have no idea what the hell that's supposed to be, and secondly because I was the one who started this thread.

I'm still not sure which team you're playing on here either... What did you vote, if you voted?

Lol. Wait, seriously? You didn't make this poll after they made the joke in the Yugioh Abridged Movie that was released, like, less than a week before the poll started? That has to be the most hilarious case of coincidence I've ever seen... and by hilarious, I mean I've sort of lost interest because now I feel like this poll was meant to be taken seriously and not just a big gag courtesy of one of the best abridged animes of all time.

Well seeing as 'gay' is a word used to describe a relationship between people of the same sex, no. You could call it 'homo-erotic', but 'gay' is just the wrong word.
