Poll: Is it just me, or is gaming becoming a constant stream of complaining about things we get?

I do think that some people take things too far and complain when it isn't necessary (though I doubt the things you have in mind when you made this thread are the ones I'm thinking of now).
First thing I thought. Good on ya.

OT: No, it's called asking for your money's worth and burning EA's credibility.

People are inherently whiny, it's just a part of human nature. Mass Effect 3 was a great game with a bad ending. Therefore every single Mass Effect thread was about the ending with almost no attention given to the rest of the game.

I really don't give a crap about how people are complaining if there is a legitimate issue behind it (which it usually is...).

Yes, people (I think it would be rather ignorant to relate this ONLY to gamers) like to complain about things, but for all the over the top complaints and people demanding refunds or reporting to BBB/FTC there are a few people who bring up very valid points and offer solutions to the problem.

Just ignore the whiners. Whining solves nothing, and complaining about the complainers is almost as bad. You're pretty much doing the same thing they are, simply complaining without offering any information.

Ideally, the people who can't offer decent points or any solutions to these issues shouldn't post either. The easiest way to say you're not supporting something is to not buy it. Gamers on the internet are a very impressionable bunch (especially the PC gamers, being very tired of being put in as an afterthought, followed by being treated like they're pirates), and they will be up in arms over the slightest of problems.

...and I am perfectly okay with that. The whiners are helping nobody. It's up to you to either say nothing or bring up something positive.

EDIT: Might as well add this isn't a recent trend. Oh god I hope not. If anything, the whining has the potential to encourage an increase in standards. You just joined a gaming forum and have exposed yourself to this. You were capable of ignoring it earlier though.

I honestly haven't played video games in AAAAAAAAAGES, because of, well, life shitting on your bad-luck face like that, but I don't think gaming has become a constant stream of complaining. I remember reading through the official Nintendo magazine, and the amount of fapping they'd done over Super Mario Galaxy.

But the internet and gaming now being mainstream has given more idiots a soapbox to complain over little things over the game that they hold so deeply to their poor little hearts.

And I just realized that I said the word "mainstream". Fuck that word. Fuck it to Hell. -_-
