Poll: Is it only me or any superhero that wears his underwear over his tights looks retarded?

Oh yes he is - worst. Superhero. Ever. Anyone who is immune to everything that comes from this planet has two main methods of good storytelling. The "God Complex", where he gets so powerful they have to have him go bad so Lois Lane can convince him to become good again, or the "Macguffin", where every small-time gangbanger gets (the ultra-rare) Kryptonite bullets. Everything else is just him flying to the scene of a crime, using some power he's just come up with to beat up everything that isn't a nun or a puppy, and then flying off. No sense of peril/drama that isn't forced.

Actually, these days he isn't all powerful and quite a few average superheroes are as powerful, if not more so. Something to do with 'mental blocks' he placed after he realised just how powerful he was.

They actually began drawing them that way so it wouldn't have to be form fitting around the crotch.
The costumes in world are supposed to make the character be remembered in the public eye. In the advertising sense it's so the cover will catch the eye of the readers. (Nowadays they just use giant boobs instead.)

It's silly. However, most superhero costumes are. The only ones that look cool IMO are the X-Men costumes (only from the films and the cartoon X-Men: Evolution), and Spiderman. Otherwise, superhero costumes in general are retarded...
