i was laying on my bed having a fag when i happened to glance at my supernatural DVD collection and thought they could make a good game.

for example:
solely based on the fact that the show is based around two brothers the multiplayer option is there.
The demonology part of the show could give an exploring option
Sam's (one of the brothers) ability to kill a demon could be used as a button mashing sequence.

i could go on but the examples i am thinking of may confuse people who don't watch the show ?

so my question is this:

do you as escapists think it is possible to take a TV show that isn't Japanese Anime, and turn it into a good game with interesting plot lines likable characters etc etc.

Yes...it is impossible...

...unless this was 1989 and Capcom was making all those games into fun platformers like Ducktales, Chip and Dale, etc...

Shows and movies don't make good games because its a linear platformer/TPS with a crappy ending. Always.

Though there are some exceptions many of them being anime but you excluded that so my answer is no.

Fox News: The Game

The objective would be to make up as bullshitty news as possible until you get killed by an angry group of people.

There were some marginally good X-Files tie in games, so it's possible, but like all tie in games the bulk probably suck. Though the Elite Force Star Trek FPSs are probably the best TV show tie ins you're likely to find.

Well CSI and Desperate House Wives both have games. Dark Angel and Buffy also spring to mind now, to be honest though, I automatically dismiss all games from TV shows as bad and give them no further thought.

Twin Peaks would make a good survival horror/mystery type game... so much so that they tried to rip it off with 'Rainy Woods'...

House: The Game. I'd play that shit. But, yeah a non-cartoon show can be made into a game. Nothing comes to mind, but it can be done.

Lost was ¬_¬ and Heroes was going to be, but it got cancelled, which is dumb since I think Heroes has much more gameplay potential than Lost. I believe there was talk of a Friends game at one point, but that might just be my overactive imagination.

There have also been Jackass games and ones based on Adult Swim cartoons like Family Guy and Harvey Birdman.

Let's see, there was technically one of these before, a computer game, but I'd like to see something better and more accessable made: A Doctor Who game.

It's coming out in the fall. Legacy Interactive is making it.

The Buffy games were good, as were a couple of the Simpsons games.

There's a chance that Highlander may be a good game. Supposedly it would become an action RPG made by Square Enix.

I have neither seen the TV-shows nor the films. They say it's based on them.

There's a game based on Lost; so yes. There's Wacky Races which was a cartoon and there's a game of it. Buffy the Vampire Slayer...
