Nope, no snow here. It's not cold enough for that yet; we're barely hitting the upper forties at night. And I hope to God it stays that way; Seattle, and the Pacific Northwest in general, is almost completely incapable of dealing with any amount of snow.

Now, I'm not just talking about people not knowing how to drive in snow, though we have that too. I mean the government reaction and the amount of anti-snow supplies we have. If it does snow widely, we have just barely enough salt, sand, and snowploughs to keep the airports, interstate highways, and major passes open. Beyond that? Local highways and roads have to fend for themselves until they can be gotten to days or sometimes week later.

Now, I can hear some of you rolling your eyes. But consider this: out here, our primary geological features are hills and valleys. Now imagine trying to go up (or down) a steep hill covered in snow and freezing slush with large numbers of people who often don't know how to drive in snow, who often do not have rear or four-wheel drive (not that it helps most of the time), and who often do not own, let alone know how to use, chains.

I hate snow. And it seems we get a little more with every passing year.

Yeah, it's really starting to come down around where I live. Of course, instead of frozen water, it's snowing the ashes of the millions of souls that are claimed each day by the raging hellfire that is otherwise known as the bush.

Because I live in fucking Australia.

Southern hemisphere is best hemisphere.

Hasn't snowed here in Maine yet. I wish it would though. As for heating we don't normally turn it on till it's 55 - 60 in house during the day.

First permanent snowfall was today. It snowed a couple of days ago but it all melted as it hit, now it is here to stay.

Living here in the state of Minnesota (central and north right next to Canada eh in the United States), it snows...

...a lot...

Like....a LOT a lot

Today, in the cities at least, was our first snow fall (it has snowed up north already but I didn't see it and therefore it doesn't exist). It's getting cold quickly and winter is coming (queue Ned Stark image here). Approx. 32 degrees Fahrenheit (0 Celsius) today if you were wondering for some reason.

So I'm kind of curious and I have nothing better to do; has it snowed for you yet? Will it snow if it hasn't or do you live in Florida or something? Do you live at the North Pole and therefore it never stopped (and if you are, could I get a new set of golf clubs for Christmas Santa)?
An option for us non-american/northern hemasphere people would be nice, something like "nope, but Summer is coming along nicely".

I hail from southeastern Ontario, and it's only just started to cool down. When I was a kid, snow in mid-October wasn't uncommon (I can remember one Halloween where I wore several layers underneath my costume), but these days, it's usually late November before we see the white stuff.

Snow, I mean. Not cocaine.

No, there's an entire other hemisphere where we're going into summer.

Americans are funny like that

Well, it's early summer time.

Although I was recently able to find some snow on top of a mountain. So yeah...

Southern New Jersey here. Our last few Winters have been pretty warm and our snow fall has been disappointing.
We've had a few really good snow storms but they only come once every few years.
And no snow yet. In fact its been pretty warm here still. We've been maintaining temperatures of 60 and above until recently. And even then its still been sticking around 50 - 60. Hopefully it'll get colder soon and we'll have some good snow. I love snow.

Not yet, but SOON.

As is, it's still about 3 degrees outside here in prairie Canada, so I can keep wearing T-shirts for another week or two.

I live in that depressing part of Texas where I'm not far enough north for it to get cold enough to have consistent snow, yet not far enough south for the winters to be mild.

Basically, it gets to around the 30-40's (Fahrenheit), but there's rarely enough moisture for there to be snow.

My Dad loves it, though; he grew up in Columbus, Ohio where some bright spark of an architect decided to make all the buildings grey. And the snow tended to be grey, with a grey overcast sky for most of the winter. So, for quite a few months you get this depressing grey-on-grey-on-grey landscape.

Yeah, he doesn't like snow very much.

Since I've moved to Northern Alabama (Use to live in North-Eastern Maryland), It doesn't snow as much, or as powerful, as in Maryland. However, people tell me it does snow here. So, I'm hoping Winter will give me at least 1 good snow day.

Grand Forks, North Dakota here. We've had some snow fall, but nothing's really managed to settle just yet. The winds are here though. The cold, discompassionate winds. The howling... the screaming... that biting sensation at the tip of your nose...

Back home in northern Norway there's apparently been a shitload of snow already though. Pretty normal for this time of year up there.

autumn have been unusually warn in Québec so far, so no snow yet. usually we get it in november sometimes in october, but we are talking about just snow falling here, not snow accumulating on the ground, because that get mostly in december, usually a week or two before christmas

I'm in Toronto, right near Lake Ontario, so we don't usually get snowfall quite yet, but I'd be very surprised if I don't see it in the next 3-4 weeks. It's raining right now.

It isn't snowing here yet, but the evenings are cold enough for it. I'm expecting us to get at least some flurries this week, maybe some snow in earnest early November.

In southern California, you are more likely to see Aliens, Bigfoot, Santa, and a bunch of fairies having a delightful picnic in the park before you see snow. Except for the mountains, and even then, it doesn't start doing so for another few weeks or month. Though the temperature is lower than previous years, so maybe we will actually get more rain than last year! :D

Edmonton, Canada has yet to see a layer of snow and has actually been warm over the past week (5-10 degrees Celsius). There's been frost almost every morning for a month. Halloween is usually a good time to expect snow on the ground.

I'm just not excited to walk to university in -30 Celsius and 3 feet of snow come December or January (maybe even November).

However, winter is my favourite time of the year because;

A) Hockey, the best sport known to mankind, is in full swing.
B) Girls turn into ski bunnies for some unknown reason (even when they're not skiing!)
C) I look good in a coat.
D) Beer is always chilled.
and E) It's not so damn hot out!
