I seriously doubt that WWIII will ever happen, which is a very, very good thing.

If WWIII did happen, it would probably last about an hour, and by the end of that hour 90% of the Earth's population would be dead. Such are the realities of nuclear warfare.

I'd quite like a WWIII it'd give a big boost to technological and scientific advancement and would really bring people together again. We'd also generate a huge amount of brilliant artwork and literature. I can't see any disadvantage beside the loss of human life and that can be replaced rather easily. The combined casualties of both WW1 and WW2 hardly made a dent in the human population so now worries there. Also I'd do quite well in a war ravaged society so hooray.

You can't eradicate a way of thinking. That's what the 'war against terror' is, not against an army, but against an ideology. As long as there are followers of that ideology, the 'war' won't be over.
