Should have been more specific, Uncharted falls into the "spent more money on advertising than development" complaint. Especially considering how short the campaign for the last game was. And GT5 has been collecting dust after about a month after getting it. I did always like Forza better but all my friends have always been die hard GT fans since the PS1 days. It's still fun, but I'm never forgiving them for the soundtrack they put in that game.Capitano Segnaposto said:Somehow I find irony in your statement. GT5 seems to be the epiphany of "Bland, generic, drab, depressing" of the racing genre. As playing both GT and the Forza series, GT takes home the prize as being the most boring racer I have ever played. The fact that half of the cars weren't updated with interior views for the new game just shows how lazy the developers were. The only thing it has going for it are... well decent graphics. All of which have been surpassed anyways.mikey7339 said:No.
I've voiced my opinion on this several times before. Except for GT5, all the other exclusives have seemed either, generic, bland, drab, depressing, not of my style, or just otherwise mediocre like they spent more money on advertising instead of development. Infamous, Kill Zone, Resistance and the Drakes Fortune series are mainly what I am directing this at.
But my opinion seems to be contradictory to the majority opinion so take that as you will.
Also, I don't consider the PS1 & 2 classics in this matter. If that is the case, than just having a legitimate way to play FF7, FF Tactics and a bunch of other older games does weigh in the PS3's favor.
I will admit that the first Uncharted is a little drab, however both sequels are far from "Drab and Generic" as you can get. Jungles? Check. Ocean? Check. Deserts? Check. Trying to climb a train before death? Check. Falling from a Cargo Plane? Check.
However Resistance and Killzone both are generic shooters. The only thing Resistance has is cool weapons, yet you can't make a game out of that. The only reason R&C got to was because of the sometimes witty writing.
What about the pulse blast, dropping shockwave, electromagnetic shield, the power line grinding, the flying/floating, lightning blades (free DLC), and the lightning storm? (And that's leaving out all the stuff you can do with downed enemies) The only third person shooter things it has is your normal blast (but really, name one game with a ranged attack you couldn't compare that too), grenades, rocket launcher, sniper, and taking cover if your picky. I see your point, but it was still clearly a superhero/villain game, but Infamous 2 was a far, far better superhero/villain game though, with a much larger group of powersAzure9 said:i only played though the first infamous but yea it is a third person shooter. Most of your characters abilities have the same function of conventional weapons, like the zoom high power lighting shot ability is really just a sniper rifle. Its still a fun game but your kidding yourself if you seeing this as a super hero game vs a third person shooter game.kenu12345 said:GASP infamous 2 is a awesome game and BTW it isn't a third person shootermjc0961 said:necromanzer52 said:As the list of ps3 exclusives, I want to play increases, I find myself getting closer to buying it. As soon as I have the time & the money I will.
