^_^ seriously, you'll replay DEHR, but never touch ME3 again.
Funnily enough I only played through DE:HR once and replayed ME3 multiple times depsite the endings. Still, DE:HR is a really good game but ends in a similar fashion to ME3 (press this button for an ending, no closure what-so-ever etc.).

OT: Get ME3 if you liked the first two games. It's the journey that is the best part.

Get ME3. Oh, and yes, it is possible to not hate the ending. I liked it. Partially for the exact reasons others hate it.

I'd go with Deus Ex Human Revolution. Even if Mass Effect 3 had an awesome ending I'd still recommend Deus Ex. Because it's different. Mass Effect 3 is pretty much like Mass Effect 2. Deus Ex will offer you something new. And it's cheaper than ME3 now so you can get it with the expansion.

Get mass effect 3. Its worth it dude. The only reason people complain about the last 10 mins is because the other 35 hours of gaming is spectacular. The bar is raised high for bioware.

Yeah, go for it man. No point doing one and two if you're not gonna finish the trilogy, and ME3 wraps everything up beautifully.

That said, Human Revolution is great as well. Get it next.

Exactly. You'll be paying $60 for a game you will never touch again if you go ME 3.
Actually Deus Ex has no dlc on the way, while Me3 has extended cut and at least year of incoming single player dlc. ME3 also has had multiplayer events every week for the first month and every two weeks since.

I would say if you liked the Mass effect franchise, you must get witcher 2 next. After witcher 2 go grab deus ex.

Yes. No matter what those whiners say, the ending did not ruin the game. It was terrible, but it doesn't make an otherwise fantastic game terrible.
I agree. A piece of turd in a pizza doesn't make the rest of the pizza inedible or vomit-inducing, right? I'd still totally eat at the same pizza place again!

Also, if you played ME1 and 2, don't play ME3. It's really not worth it. Sure, you'll enjoy it for 20+ hours, but then you'll see the ending and never want to play any of the games again.

None of which will fix the ending. They will only "explain" why they broke so many characters, rules of the universe, science and already established devices, contradictions, plot twists, fallacies in the apparently super-advanced technologically and ancient civilization...

Get a different game.

I know I'm far behind, but heres my story. I just recently got a gaming computer and a good paycheck, so I decided to start getting into mass effect again. I played the first mass effect back in the day when my xbox was working and liked it. So I played went renegaded and it was as fun I remember. Then I downloaded the second mass effect on steam. It blew my god damn socks off.

Excited about getting the third despite what people where saying about the ending(don't want to know by the way just in case.) but I found it was available on steam. Now I might be inclined to buy it on Origin if only it wasn't still priced at $60 and on Origin the terrible things I've heard about the ending.

So I ask you escapist, is it worth it to get on origin to finish up the story? Or should I just get Dues ex, the other game I'm interested in thats reasonably priced and on steam, and wait in till the price of mass effect 3 dies down?

Captcha : I see
Dues Ex, but if you HAVE to buy Mass Effect 3, grab a copy from a physical store. My local shop has collectors editions in stock and at a decent price as well compared to the Origin pricking.

The point is that mass effect 3 will continue to be supported in both single player and multiplayer for the next year. There will be reasons to pick it back up after beating the campaign.

Deus ex is dead in the water with no updates or future developments. There is no real reason to play it over, since you get an auto save to choose different endings.

OP is a fan of the series, he will love mass effect 3. OP get off the internet and try to shake off the opinions of others. Play the game for yourself and get back to us. Every second on the internet is another chance at spoilers.

Haha this thread is barely any help in deciding which game to buy.Even if ME3 is ahead remember that this forum loves BioWare games in general :D
If you really want to make a bargain,go Deus Ex:HR,it's a better game IMHO.

1) No amount of dlc in the world will change the fact that ME 3 was rushed and had plot holes. There's a reason why Drew Karpyshyn quit before the game was done and I bet he has an NDA so he can't talk about it. And then there's that turd ending that makes no sense either. And no...the dlc will not fix that ending. It shows that Casey Hudson locked out most of the writing team for the ending. It really does.(It's killing me not being able to discuss spoilers here but I truly think people weren't paying attention when they played through the three games.)

2) Mass Effect is not about mp. Seriously, who cares about multiplayer with Mass Effect controls? There are other shooters with better mechanics.

3) RENT ME3 OP. You will still get to play it and you will be glad you didn't pay for it at the end. Trust me. And if by some miracle you do like it you can always buy it when the other story dlc comes out (besides the stupid extended cut which will change nothing)

4) BUY DEUS EX during a Steam sale. Play both and save money.

The thread title doesn`t include Deus Ex:HR and i bet some people are still avoiding ME3 discussions. With a thread title like "DE:HR or ME3" we could see a different poll result.

I voted DE:HR. It´s got an better ending.

Both are pretty good games. Actually both have pretty crap endings, although ME3s is undoubtedly worse because at least DE:HRs went with the theme of the game and had been building up to it.

Personally i think i had more fun overall with ME3, especially with the surprisingly not shit multiplayer. However you can't really go wrong with getting DE either.

The ending to mass Effect 3 may suck, but everything up to it is fine. If you think it's about the journey not the destination then you will replay it. If you only care about how things end up in the end then you won't. Yeah it's a good game I had more fun with it then HR.

Mass Effect 3 is incredible, albeit I preferred the second one (additionally, play that before you play 3 if you can.) I only played Deus Ex briefly and couldn't get in to it if I'm honest. Mass Effect is one of my favourite series - as soon as I completed it I started a new game immediately.

If you liked the previous two games, especially ME2, then chances are you'll love 99.9% of ME3.

Once you're done, this [http://shannon.users.sonic.net/masseffect/] will help ease the pain of that last 0.1%.

Human Revolution is good too. I'd definitely recommend getting it at some point, even though the ending is almost as shit as ME3's.
Oh god, thank you for that! I'd never seen that before and that's some great (albeit fan servicey) writing :)

For all those saying the ending never did and never could make sense, run through that.
