I wish we could make Blitzball a real sport. Goddamn you, reality.
Yeah, my answer was no. As frustrating as it can be it is pretty damn fun.

FFX was my second favorite in the series, and I really liked the Blitzball parts of it.

I just wish you could distribute the skills your self when your players leveled up.

I hated blitzball especially as you have to slog through it to make Wakka useful. Can't believe the design team put so so much into that mini-game.

As for if it's wrong to go back to it, if you enjoy something and it's not harming anyone else go nuts.

Yeah. Blitzball was horrible. Its just an 8-bit football (soccer for US-ers) simulator with PS2 graphics.

Now, if they had made it possible to move in all 3 dimensions and gave you more control over the actions of the characters... That would have been a whole different stack of pancakes.

I knew someone would ask this...

In all honesty, I enjoyed X-2 far more than X. I mean, yeah, the story was shit and it was kind of like playing Barbie dress-up, but it was just more entertaining. In X, it was just super linear and I never gave a shit about any of the characters. I never found it to be very enjoyable (except for Blitzball), and X-2 was kind of like getting the job system back again. X-2 didn't seem to take itself super seriously, either, and I liked that.

No. It is maddeningly addictive.

And I started up a new game of FFVIII just to play the beginning and beat everyone at cards with no intention of continuing to Timber.

Damn now I want to play FFX just to play Blitzball. If only I knew where all my PS2 games got put...

OH MY GOD! I'm not alone anymore! Someone else likes this game for the same reasons I do!

There was stuff to do in X besides Blitzball?

Of course not. I spent a fair amount of time playing Triple Triad in FF8. Good times.
Ah the good old days of "Just one more iron giant card and I can get the Punishment before Dollet!"

I still play Final Fantasy X just for Blitzball, I think that it was the best part of the game since the story was boring and lame -.-

Actually there was alot of broken mechanics in VIII, like being able to get awesome weapons really early on, or the fact you could get Squall up to level 100 before even fighting Ifrit.

Still my favorite FF game though

Why not?
I've replayed DK64 for the old arcade, MW2 for the Spec Ops, and Twilight Princess for the various minigames in it.
Blitzball was really well done, so go for it!
