My chair is comfortable enough to fall asleep in so i dont see the issue. Last console i had was playstation one and we used to play it while sitting on the floor because the sofa was too far and even that didnt bother us.

I prefer to sit down whilst gaming, as laying down while doing so would make me feel like some sort of lazy slob, wallowing in a sea of fruit peels and bread crumbs and spilt iced tea.

Given that I find no greater discomfort playing a PC game than a console game (though the DualShock 3 assaults my hands when I play an FPS on my PS3, which is admittedly a rare thing anyhow), I'd say that the question is moot. I sit in the same chair and look at the same screen and use the same audio solution. The only variable is that I use a mouse and keyboard rather than a gamepad, and thanks to the fact that I've spent plenty of time with both I find them equally comfortable.

I don't play PC games all that often, unless Steam has some crazy sale then I pretty much live at the computer, but I don't mind sitting upright. I think as long as you have a comfortable chair and a pretty good mouse then it's all good.

Hey OP, ever heard of the question "Are you still beating your wife?" that is an example of why your poll is so terrible. It is a very old idiom as an example of leading questions, it is a very poor "weasling" tactic.

Your poll gives no opportunity for people to refute your statement that PC gaming is uncomfortable, only opinion on how that is relative to the quality of the content.

Please edit or delete your poll.

Where's the "I don't find it uncomfortable at all option"? Just because you yourself find it uncomfortable doesn't mean that everyone else does, I rather enjoy sitting back with my legs sprawled out infront of me whilst I click away and I rarely lay down to play console games either I prefer to be slouched in a chair or against a wall.

I cannot lie down and play games. My eyes just can't concentrate on it. I have to sit bolt upright. Also, my back feels funny if I hunch and sit on the bed so I'm better off using a chair. I suppose this is why gaming on the pc is fine for me.
This, if you really want my opinion. Console is far less comfortable.

I have to sit through lectures each year at work about how to setup your whole desk area and chair etc, so you don't have a problem (RSI, etc) and won't sue the company. Due to that I do all the same stuff at home. It's annoying to get the lectures, but it is surprising how many people setup their environment so that it causes strains and they have to sit in odd position because the monitor is off to one side or there is no foot room under the desk etc. Anyone who wants to game on a PC for many hours at a desk should check out this type of stuff, as you maybe doing your self an injury.

But this should not cause people to avoid using the PC for gaming, as anywhere you can game with console, you can game with a PC. This idea that with a PC you cannot lounge on the sofa and game is stupid. I have my PC connected to my TV in the front room and the only time I adopt a gaming posture different to a console player is when needing to use a mouse and keyboard. But I would take a lot more discomfort to be able to use a mouse and keyboard over a joypad for certain games, any day of the week.

Also since razor have a decent looking motion controller coming out for the PC which looks decent for FPS games, maybe the mouse and keyboards days are numbered.

If you pull up a wooden chair from the kitchen to hunch over your tiny laptop to play Street Fighter 4 on the keyboard, you're doing it wrong - but it's not the fault of PC gaming as such.

Large-ish monitor, surround sound, good table-height and a comfy reclining-able big-ass office chair and PC gaming is more comfortable than, say, most movie theaters. I sit here hours on end and the biggest problem is that it's too relaxing.

One could just as easily ask is console gaming worth the discomfort because I get sweaty crampy hands from controllers. Which I only know because I play some games on the PC with a controller. Because for certain games it's better. Wow, I can't even be purposely disingenious for a whole paragraph. Because I'm so damn comfortable.
