Poll: Is physical fighting pointless??

Okay on frieday in class a fight started just because of a few harsh words, and no teen can seem to just take the high road and be the bigger person. Honostly this fight was stupid they just started off by calling names and the next thing the teachers yelling and telling the others to go get help. So this is the question, was this fight nessicary because of the verbal abuse used?

edit: I mean fighting in generall. Not just about this fight but about all fights that happen (wars not included)

Personally I wish i didn't half to add that depends.. I just wish for an impossible world were no one needs to fight... but thats a dream never a reality...

I have yet to find a situation where words are not sufficient. There could well be situations where you do need to fight but I have no experience in that area.

If it came to actual fighting, then both people in question where in fact so riled up they needed to show their discomfort. In that light, yeah, I think it was needed - if it hadn't happened they would've just been left with stuffed up angers.

It's only necessary.. When you are forced into it, but it isn't necessary for the opposing party or person to push you into such a thing, therefore, making it completely unnecessary. It has come to this, it means you fail for not being able to compensate for a non-violent means to end the growing conflict. If there is one, if there isn't... 'wat?'

Oh it definitely solves problems. For instance, my sister's boyfriend recently attacked her, so I beat the shit out of him. Nobody abuses my sister and gets away without a few broken bones.

If the people that you are in conflict with are level headed and reasonable, then physical fighting is pointless.

But if they are intolerant dipshits that can't listen to reason, then I guess the only way to deal with them is a swift punch in the windpipe

It depends on what is going on. Most of the time, it can be avoided. There are times when an goold ol fashioned ass whooping is needed. Those times are few and far between though, and usually only because of previous acts of unessecary violence.

All I can say is it depends. Most of the time I am a very level headed person, and will not physically retaliate, unless I am hit first. However, if it get's to personal then I am the aggressor. Take this for example: some kid walked into the computer lab while my friend and i were doing some research at school. He then begins to call me douche names, which I ignore. Then he starts attacking my family. I clock him with a chair, I never hear shit from him again.

See, fighting solves stuff sometimes.
