Now, let me say that I really like this game a lot.
My problem is that it has received a large number of "perfect" scores even though it has a very large number of bugs, clunky controls, a lot of ambiguity regarding who it's okay to shoot and what is okay to take/open, suffers from the R* lull (which is where R* games drag on to long so they can achieve 30-40 hrs of story), dated gameplay etc.
I recognize that it is an incredible open world game with beautiful design and the voice acting is top notch as well as having a great number of period details, diverse and cool wildlife, fun and diverse multiplayer (it really shines here) and a bunch of other awesome stuff but a "perfect" game it is not. I would give this game a 9/10 or a 4/5 depending on the scale yet it has a metascore of 95 with 13 perfect scores and then 99, 98, 97 . . and so on. I think the critics just freaked out because we finally have a really good western and they had to restrict their playtime to get their reviews in on time.
What're your thoughts everyone?
[Keep in mind that a perfect score means that it got the highest score possible not that the game is "perfect"]
