1/3 of it is in Europe, and 2/3 of it is in Aisa. I THINK, keyword think, that most of its population is in the Europe portion however.

Also, I hope your Geography teachers get fired.

Technically, legally, diplomatically and politically, the Russian Federation is a European Country. I personally don't think it is, but someone at some point in time decided that it was. Probably something to do with it's capital city/industrial centre/ population centre being in the European side.

And Europe and Asia are separate continents, as anyone who has ever studied geography should know. Stop joining them, since Africa is also joined to "Eurasia" so shouldn't that be part of this Uber-Continent too? Its the same logic, and its fallible.

I'm no where near an expert on this sort of thing, but this is what I make out of this.

As a Russian, I'll tell you. Both. The Western part prefers to say they're Europe, though. But when asked we just say, we're from Russia.

Вот такие брат, дела...

Most of it is a part of Asia, but places like Moscow are in Europe. At least, that's what I seem to remember.

I'd say eurasia, but there was this one time in 5th grade a friend did a report of Russia and when he went up to present it he said it was in eurasia. Then the teacher was just like "I don't like that word.". So my friend goes "..but that's where it's in" and she says "Well, pick one, Europe or Asia", and when he doesn't know what to say she's like "You come up here, and you don't even know where your country IS?". I hated her so much that day.

In school I was told that Eurasia is just one continent, and that the division between Europe and Asia is based on political, ratial and cultural backgrounds. However, Russia shifts from Asia to Europa according to its own agenda.

The Ural Mountains divides what is considered Asia and Europe for Russia. All other countries that far east are considered part of Asia. Ukraine and the other smaller former Soviet states are part of Europe.

Your teached didn't deserve to be called a "teacher". Maybe she can also teach why the earth is flat *sarcasm*
