Poll: Is sexual orientation a recent invention?

I think it's the new in the sense that 400 years ago you were either a god-fearing heterosexual baby making man/woman of the society or you were mentally ill. It speaks a lot these days people are free to have the sexual orientation they want in several countries.

Someone may have brought this up already, but I'm too lazy to read the thread so here we go:

Recorded incidents of bi- and homosexuality have been around for centuries, dating back to the Italian Renaissance and even back to ancient Greece.
