Lots of people saying get it. I played 1 and 2 but it didn't hold my interest, might give this one a pop at some point. No rush though...

The gameworld is more expansive, and the simulation model is significantly more elaborate than the first go round, so if you like that sort of thing, then this iteration will probably be to your liking.

As far as graphics go, I've got a pos 128Mb PCI Nvidia card that it runs fine on, though there are slight pauses when reupholstering furniture and the like.

Funny thing, my wife loves the game, and I call them her dollies, but when she saw me fire up Civ III for the first time, she said it looked like the most boring game in the world.

I've been wondering the same, Hopeing I have a good enough grafics card to handle it.
It has clear upgrades from the last 2 and starts to have more of an open world feel. If you liked the old ones or the concept of the game, you will like the new Sim's 3.

I love it. I've been playing it daily, and while it is definitely different from the Sims 2, it's a major improvement in my opinion. If you like the Sims 2, I can guarantee you'll like the Sims 3.

Sometimes I wish there was an insiminator though lol

The first one was the best in my opinion but Sims 3 rivals it with the ability to make people insane and other traits, also exploring the neighborhood is fun since you don't need to call a taxi and wait an hour, now you have your own car and there are a lot more types of community lots.

Sims 3 is an extremely good sequel to the Sims 2, improving all of the old aspects of the original to almost no end. If you enjoyed the original sims, you will definately love this version.

I got the Sims 3 against my better judgement, but have to say it was entertaining. I put it down after a few weeks, as I do with any Sims game, but I know i'll come back to it. I'm on my family's 6th generation or something ridiculous like that. I'd say it's worth the buy for sure.

It's an improvement. Still typically buggy as hell. It's harder to kill sims in this one however. But all and all it's just an improved version of 2. The mod community has already jumped all over it and those make the game better.

I thoroughly enjoyed it. Most games last only a few days if you're lucky, and this game's no different. Once you've mastered micro-managing your character, which doesn't take long, it can get kind of stale. I'm looking forward to the expansions, though I'm also miffed that they weren't included....money scheming mutherfu....all in all though, worth a purchase.

definatly worth buying or since EA took off the installing rubish they put on Spore, where u can only install it 3 computers at a time, i find it very easy to make a good iso so i can keep my blu ray drive free just incase i get bored and have to watch a movie for a while! But yea its a excellant game and it can even be played on a MAC book now so i can play even at work...

I actually got bored of The Sims 3 a while back, but I got back into it recently and it's... okay. It's just like the others except harder and with a REAL neighborhood.

If you liked the previous ones, you'll like this one. Nothing really else should go into it. I voted for "yes".

No. I liked the Sims 2 better. And, it's one of those things that you play obsessively for a short period of time and then you forget it exists. So it's not really worth it. Wait for it to get on bittorent.

It is challenging in the beginning if you make someone from scratch and try and get them a house, let alone running the house too!
