I mean, I know it was short, but at the end when I thought a game with outstanding game play was coming to an end, it continued one more level, a great story kicked in, and it finished stronger than I thought possible.
You're confusing "perfect" and "best". There is a "best" for everything. In order: Boondock Saints, Ender's Game, Hamlet (this is the most subjective out of all of them, based on who's preforming), Michelangelo's David, Firefly.latenightapplepie said:No.
But only because there is no such thing.
What is the best film ever? The best novel? The best play? The best sculpture? The best TV series?
I think I'm among the few that didn't really like Portal, the bulk of the game felt like an unneeded tutorial. When the real puzzles showed up I found them less innovative, and fun for that matter, than Nabacular Drop's. For me the only redeeming quality the game had was GlaDOS. Had I not got the game from The Orange Box, and actually paid for it individually, I'd probably be pretty pissed.lady man lady said:I mean, I know it was short, but at the end when I thought a game with outstanding game play was coming to an end, it continued one more level, a great story kicked in, and it finished stronger than I thought possible.

I don't believe I am. And I would disagree that there is a "best" for everything. All those artistic mediums contain too much variation to allow sufficient comparison to find an objective "best". "Good" and "bad" are such vague adjectives. Their superlatives just as much so.Himmelgeher said:You're confusing "perfect" and "best". There is a "best" for everything.
