I've played the game quite a bit on Xbone, and the game is enjoyable, but as it's been stated before in this thread, it does suffer from the same pitfalls that other open world games are suffering from. There's some similarity to the Farcry series. In Farcry, you ascend a radio tower or something and unlock a part of the map. In Mad Max, you ascend in a hot air balloon and unlock a part of the map. Another thing I noticed immediately when I first started driving a car in the game was that it handled like a boat. I gave it a pass though since it had no upgrades at all, but after nearly maxing out (no pun intended) the handling specs on the car, it still handled like a boat. The one thing that drives me (again, no pun intended) crazy is the damage mechanics in the game. I have the best armor and knuckleduster upgrades for Max, but somehow, Max is able to easily withstand getting hit by a speeding vehicle multiple times, but if he gets punched 4 or 5 times by a shirtless dude, he's already down at least half his health. Also, with maxed out knuckledusters, it still takes a lot of punches to kill someone.... who's not wearing anything other than cargo pants. On top of that, the miniboss characters are all clones of each other, and just roided up versions of normal enemies, and they have a big stick that they whack you with. If there's other enemies in the field, you can have the miniboss charge at you, but dodge out of the way at the last second and have him attack his own men, only to watch in confusion as they casually survive getting their skulls smashed in by a giant rebar club. In my opinion, the game ultimately shines with the vehicular customization and car combat, but so much of the game is spent on foot clearing out enemy bases, as that's the primary method of reducing threat in a region and progressing through the game's story.
