The main thing is that the PS3 is more expensive. Poorer and/or less refined tend to go for the cheaper console. When the Xbox 360 first came, I got it and the community was very nice. People tended to be helpful, respectful, and left cursing to just in game when they got killed, not before the game or in the post game lobby. Then I put in Halo 2 and the very first words I hear upon joining a match are every single curse word in the human language. It also doesn't help that everyone is in party chat. It tends to leave you with the screaming 8 year olds.

Wow, your friends must be complete babies to react so strongly to something that can be solved with mute buttons and violation reports. I was unaware that you guys had extensive knowledge of the effectiveness of the file complaint system to the point where you could say it doesn't work. Please, tell us more.

But of course, if someone gets the drop on you in MW2 or Halo, they MUST be using aimbots and wallhacks. There's simply no other explanation!

OT: No, it's not getting worse, but with greater popularity comes greater whining (and abuse).

I think for the most part it is getting a little better. In part because the annoying prick 12 year olds who were being obnoxious in the days of Halo 2 have actually grown up a bit by now.

You hear alot less screamers and racists than you used to. Sure theres still plenty to go around but the sheer number of them has now been vastly reduced.

It literally was that bad. You might encounter one nowadays in say an 8 hour play session, where as back in the day you might encounter one match in an 8 playsession that DIDNT have sone innane bullshit.

So yes, its gotten better. Is it to the point of good? not even close.
