...No, I never got that impression. What, exactly, is your brother's reasoning for such a claim?

He's as much a Communist as Obama is a Socialist (he's not)

Well, if you picture this ideal where the game industry has watchdogs assigned to them who wear overcoats and carry pistols, and have the ability to summarily execute bad executives and poor game designers...then I think Yahtzee would be a Commissar.
Yahtzee, ready to hunt down Too Human.
COMMISSAR YAHTZEE CROWSHAW, HERO OF THE IMPERIUM!!!

My little brother thinks Yahtzee is a communist. He base's his idea on a Zero-Punctuation video he saw me watch. I don't think the same, thou he is the smart one. What are you guys thoughts?
No, he isn't a communist. However, from what I've seen in his various videos and such, he most assuredly is a liberal. Not liberal in the American sense, but in the generally more acceptable European sense, meaning pro-universal healthcare, gun control and the like. Which, frankly, most of Europe is.
Your definition of the average European liberal is exactly the same as the average American liberal. If he was one of those, he would also be the other one.

There are four reasons that being a liberal is considered a bad thing in America:
1. What's considered to be the "center" has been pulled over to the right. Most of our Democratic presidents have been technically centrists, but for some reason they're considered "far left extremists."
2. I've heard it said that the right fears their base and the left hates their base. This seems pretty true (and is also due to the same reasons as the above). While you have the right bending over backwards to please the extreme side of their base, the left does their best to distance themselves from the actual extreme leftists, making sure everyone knows that they may be liberals, but they're not crazy far-left hippies like that guy over there!
3. Hipsters thinking that if you stray away from the exact center point on the Political Compass graph [http://www.politicalcompass.org/], you're a blind, unreasonable fanatic who can't think for yourself.
4. Plain old exaggeration. If you're a liberal, obviously you think all of our income should be going to the government, and the rich should be forced to pay even more than what they make, while the poor are given free cars and abortions and the government spends all your money on expensive gluten-free doughnuts for the parties they throw for terrorist leaders. (No, nobody likes "wasteful" spending. Liberals just have a broader definition of what constitutes reasonable government spending than conservatives do.)

...Not because American liberals are any different than your definition of a European liberal.
Here are two different sites detailing a liberal:

http://conservapedia.com/Liberal
http://rationalwiki.org/wiki/Liberal

You could say that Conservapedia gives a VERY generalised, if slightly overboard, American description of a liberal, while Rationalwiki gives a more European description. Though beware that Rationalwiki is a humour site half the time, and Conservapedia is just evil.

I found undeniable proof that Ben Crosshaw is in fact a communist!!!

Why else would he be crouching in front of a soviet flag, which for some reason he does not cast a shadow on?

even more evidence!

Yahtzee wrote his own communist manifesto and is selling it through Amazon!

I...don't understand why you linked me these. Are you trying to refute my point that the description you gave of an average European liberal is the same as that of an average American liberal? If so, I'm not sure how these links are intended to prove that.

Wait, isn't that the same as the American sense of liberal? Because I am European and I think that what you said is textbook American liberal thinking.
The word "Liberal" (from my viewpoint at least) is being used more and more synonymous with "Left winged". While in Europe a liberal party can still be considered a right winged party.

Here the word Liberal stands for little government interference. Both in personal freedom and Financially/economically. They aren't big on regulation so they are likely pro choice in all matters like abortion and gay marriage and religion. Economically they are also in favor of as little regulation as possible. They stand for a government as small as possible and with little bureaucracy. They also are Political faction that is most associated with capitalism as they are major supporters of an open market with very little regulation. And also for little social security (compared to other political factions on THIS side of the Atlantic ^^).

Compared to other political Factions:

Socialists/Labour will agree with social liberalism, but not with all economic liberalism.

Conservatives/Christian Democrats will agree with most of the economic side of liberalism, but not with all the social liberalism.

Now I got a little carried away typing this, but I hope it gives some insight. Now If I'm wrong about the way liberals are viewed in the US let me know will ya. ^^

All it points out is the differing opinions on the views of those described as liberals and how it affects public perception.

What is this thread I don't even...

Your brother saw a picture of a black guy and a white guy in a ZP video. he therefore thinks yahtzee is racist...therefore a nazi(right wing)...therefore "a bit left wing"...therefore a communist.

you...I don't...what...

Fuck you
QFT

In fact, why do people keep using the phrase "communist society" as if it is the same thing as a communist state? IT IS NOT.

Can you provide your brother's reasoning for coming up with this assumption?
I was watching a Zero Punctuation and and he was talking about Nazis, he saw a picture of a black and white guy. Since Yahtzee talks so fast I'm guessing he got lost in translation.
Oh shit! I have a confession to make....I too have, at some point, talked about Nazis and seen a picture of a black and white guy. I THINK I'M A COMMUNIST, TOO!

Seriously, why does this thread exist?

Couldn't care less. He's a journalist, not the voice of truth, morality and justice. He makes me laugh though...
