It's interesting to see that so many people switched from Sony to Microsoft, seeing that the PS2 was the God of last gen. Maybe people couldn't wait the extra year for a PS3? I don't know.
Most likely they couldn't afford it when it came out, so they bought the 360 until the price dropped but then got stuck on the console.
For me, and I'm not trying to put down the PS3, but I found there were more games on the Xbox 360 I couldn't live without than on the PS3. I'd rather have Gears, Fable and Halo over Resistance, Metal Gear and Killzone. Basically, it was a preference for the games, just like many people bought the PS3 for. Though, the price didn't help...
YES i totally agree with you.

ok im gonna show my age kids if u dont know some of these systems its ok....

Atari 2600
comerodre 64
nes and game boy
PC( back when games where done in DOS )
N64
PS2 and gba ( which i still use)
360 and DS

its wreid i missed the whole Snes and Genises generation. I went with an xbox 360 because of the price and i learned about exculisve DL content for gta 4. there is nothing that ive seen for the ps3 that makes me regert my decsion. I been loyal to nintendo in the handheld area for awhile all the other portables just never appealed to me.

Well considering my only last gen console was a Dreamcast...

Edit: And what is it with so many people completely ignoring the only console that's next-gen in any way besides graphics?

The Wii is killing everything in sales, but I really got bored with it quickly. The best game available on it at least before they rereleased Okami was the rerelease of RE4. All the Wii has is a bunch of party games that would be boring as hell if not for the motion-sensitive controller gimmick, and a couple of Mario games that are just polished remakes of old Mario games like Brawl and Mario Kart. I'd like to add that Mario Kart Wii is the most impossibly bullshit Mario Kart so far, with no challenges to gameplay apart from the entirely luck-based fake difficulty like getting constantly bombarded with red and blue shells.
Super Mario Galaxy is probably the only fresh and interesting title the Wii has all to itself. Yes, there are a few other quirky original games out there like No More Heroes, but my excitement for that game faded when I started seeing gameplay videos so given how much shit it gets in reviews I can't imagine I'm missing much.
The game I've probably played the most on my Wii is Excite Truck. Excite Truck. Can you believe that?

So yeah, that's why my 360 gets all the attention from me.

shit I can't answer the poll. I don't have an Xbox 360 or a PS3. I have a Wii. And fuck you I love it. Fuck you graphics. Fuck your blu ray. Fuck your High definition the Wii is fucking great.

ANGST

((Though I would like to buy a 360 eventually. Some good games on there. But I still like the Wii better. And no I'm not a Nintendo Fanboy I didn't even own a Gamecube.))

Mine's a bit weird?

Not counting the Game Boy color or the Game Boy Advance SP or the N64 (which was the family's system, even though I still have it), the first system that was mine was the PS2 (which I still have). My parents got me a 360 for Christmas, but I ended up giving it to my little brother as a present because I had played a game on it precisely once (Ninety-Nine Nights, on Christmas Day, but I also got FFXII, so guess which game I ended up playing?) and had since then used it as a DVD player. I purchased a PS3 for myself, and that is currently my main game system. So, technically I'm a Playstation person through and through. And I have since learned that 360's get really loud when you're actually playing a video game on them.

Bag sign. Means you're getting closer to a RROD. YOu might want to consider using the screw fix to realign your heatsinks.

Um, I'm not familiar with that term. And besides, it's not my system anymore.

Basically it means your 360 is probably going to turn into a giant box of fire pretty soon.

Ooh, nasty. I'll look up some info for him. Thanks for the warning!

Of course, part of the reason I never heard anything that loud is because I always had it out in the open with lots of space around it, and he's got it in a cupboard next to his TV. Maybe he should reorganize it?

Thanks again!

I don't know maybe but massive graphical glitches, constant freezing and 2 rings are still better indicators.

Nope. Glitches and freezing occur as the GPU and CPU reach critical temperatures. Before that the fans will rev up to top speed to try and keep the cores cool. If you find the fans making a shit load of noise even during light load it's an early indicator of a cpu flambe.
