This is sort of a spin-off of the "God, I'm old" thread, but have you ever seen The Rocky Horror Picture Show [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Rocky_Horror_Picture_Show]? I used to go all the time [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Rocky_Horror_Picture_Show_cult_following]. They were showing it at midnight tonight at a theater in my city, just like they have been doing for over 30 years and I missed it. Ah well, next month maybe.

I went to the live stage show without knowing a single thing about it. Was quite shocked before it even started, just by seeing everyone in costume. That was an eye opener and a half lol.

After the initial shock it actually turned out to be pretty funny and I quite like it

To my eternal shame, it's one of the cornerstones of Goth/General Weirdo lifestyle, and I've NEVER gone.

Though I have seen RHPS 2: Shock Treatment.

My parents have it on dvd somewhere. It was weird and boring. "Look it's a guy dressed like a girl who's singing about sex, HOLY F^CK!" overrated in my opinion, maybe it was just a way to be different.

Edit: thinking about it it must have been a very Wow! movie back then.

I've seen the movie, but never been a live show. Great movie, though.

I have two friends, sisters, whose parents named them Magenta and Columbia from the movie. So adorable. XD

Yes, ahh the good ol' days.

Ok, I'm only 18, but it still rocked. Damnit, now I have the song stuck in my head.

I saw it when I was 14. We were all required to watch it before we acted it.

That's when I quit drama club.

Oh yes. In Cambridge they used to frisk patrons before letting us enter the theater since they were trying to be fairly strict about the "no making a mess" rule...but toast and lighters and cards ended up finding their way inside anyhow.

*is appalled* If they find out, they'll repossess your black, crushed-velvet shirt! Either that or drag you to it and sell you off at the virgin auction.

Though I have seen RHPS 2: Shock Treatment.[/quote]

Oh, well, then I guess it's ok.

No, it was pretty much considered trash then too. It's all about audience participation. Watching it at home without the audience participation is like watching a Spielberg movie no soundtrack.

Hey, who turned out the lights?

If they ever produce one of the Ghost-Recorders, I am so getting one. :)

Oooh, and the Vashta Nerada are now at the Doctor Who exhibit!!!!!!!

I swapped my shirt for the archetypal black leather armchair and a cat.

I saw it, over and over again. Not of my own will mind you, that was just what the people I hung out with when I was a kid liked to watch.

Now, go watch Pink Flamingos [http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0069089/] by John waters.

Only if you can guarantee me audience participation.
