While banning an entire account and disabling their game and basically throwing that money they spent on your game down the bin is a tad extreme considering it was only single-player.

But then again, I'm inclined to not even look at a hack website! They cause nothing but problems even for the people who don't use them.
it is a 14 day ban, more like a warning, but of course the people the got ban isn't going to tell you that, since it is clearly Blizzard fault for banning them. really?
Well, if it's just a 14 day ban then that's a effective method of getting their "NO HACKERS ANYWHERE" attitude across.
Yeah cause when I used my Gameshark to completely fill in the license board, at the beginning of the game, on FF 12 SE should have taken my game away from me for 14 days. Right?
Yeah, but that game has no online, or online value.

Their argument is that using trainers that circumvents turning off achievements when using the in-game cheats is hurting the value of achievements and therefore, online.

Some people do genuinely hold value to these achievements and these trainers are hurting that value, hence their decision.

I'm not saying their argument is flawless by any means, but it's not entirely unjustified.

And to all you out there saying the achievements they hacked for have no meaning, think about this: You are in a game lobby and are the host, which means you get to pick the teams for the most part, and a friend of yours wants in the game, so you want the person who you think is the least experienced to get kicked. So you look at their profile icons and see everyone except one guy has the starting icon, and this guy has the icon for completing every objective in every mission on the hardest difficulty in a very short time. So you choose one of the starting icon dudes and kick him for your friend. Even though that person hacked and has as much real game expertise as everyone else in that lobby he is seen as a more experienced player and gives him a very slim, but existent, advantage when it comes to online play.

But here's a solution if you're so concerned with cheating. Disconnect from the internet. Go on, do it. Blizzard cant touch you there. So instead of boycotting for a group of stupid fucks getting banned for violating the EULA, which they agreed to, just play offline and stop complaining about Blizzard regulating a multiplayer service which they are paying to keep running.

They used to make good and original stuff, like The Lost Vikings, Blackthorne, Warcraft. Then they started the business of making sequels. Financial success tainted the house of Blizzard with greed and cowardice. They stopped taking bold decisions. They stopped pioneering. They made games like Diablo, Starcraft. Then they tapped into the wallets of friendless zombies with their first MMORPG, World of Warcraft. Then more sequels for that (expansions). Now they've become even worse than Westwood.

"They're doing like any company would: make lots of money."

Yes, I can respect them for being savvy businessmen. But don't expect me to respect their integrity or vision. I don't. I consider them a relic of the past. They have no vision other than the green $.

Now you want to add another reason to disregard ("boycott") Blizzard? They blocked people from cheating in Starcrap 2? I don't understand why anyone would need to cheat in the first place. It's not exactly a game of layered deep strategy. It's a game for people who want to devise simple plans quickly, and then execute those plans efficiently. Experience and APM are the tools.

I disagree with this...
Cheating bad in multiplayer fine. Cheating single player? That's damn out right invasion of privacy.

And before the lame "Just don't cheat." retards chime in. People have jobs, we play a game once. Then for grins we cheat. That set of armor could never find, spawn the flying tank in GTA for grins, or even instead of making yourself a godly like person you let the enemy spawn massive waves and see how long you hold out...

Most game have cheat codes in them for devs to test them? What next? They STEAL our money because our Xbox is to close to a computer and "might" cheat?

Sorry no matter how you look at it, the single player games has always had mods, fan made, cheats ect, This is down right destruction of your game for something that doesn't harm anyone else. Seriously... these idiot game companies are heading further and further past the line.

You make a game, we buy it, we play it, we don't cheat online and this is the END of the relationship.

What next? Some finds a bug in a game and does it for a laugh of a extra bit of ammo and they pull the game?

Seriously, out right.

Fuck Blz/Activison...

Your not my mom, dad, but you think your "Big brother"

Screw yourselves... some of us gamers are 30+ who grew up with games and don't have time for your shit grinding bullshit. We wanna work, play, finish the story and get on with life.
No one cares about the "leet" retard no lifers you cater to... wtf, is some zit faced nerd somewhere upset I didn't want to sit through your 80 hour grind to finish a game? Fuck that, I got a job and a life. Games are that, games. Not a way of life. Don't make me a paycheck and feed the family. You make a game a damn near movie and tell us we have to have no life and play like a lab chimp to see the ending or you rob us? Right...

But you saw another way to steal a sale again... well guess it's little different than microsoft making still faulty xboxs that melt then add the replacement units to the new quarters sales.

Just don't expect the people with -jobs- to buy your games... oh and don't expect us to buy our kids your game either. Heh...jackasses.

Just cause the nerd army praises WOW and some can't break away from it for a day, you wanna treat the majority of gamers like that? Well....hope you been saving your in for a bad surpise.

So kids what excuse you think they will use next? Agree with them all you want...wait till they track your browser and kill a game cd key cause you watched a AMV or game challenge on youtube for some insight to some jackass dev impossible bullshit and it's "cheating" cough up more cash...nah, i'll play another game from a real company.

But if you enter a race with rules that signify that all the cars must not be modded i think the referee has the right to disqualify you

Why would I boycott them when they've just made my favourite game ever and it's more perfect than I could possibly have imagined? I saw no need for 3rd party cheats, or even the inbuilt ones. I don't think it's entirely up to you to decide what your rights are in regard to your property.

Eh I see it more like this...
There is only you...
The race is in your head.
There is no referee...

But Ford motors sends you a letter the next day saying you must buy another car because you pretended to race alone in your head and that is against some license agreement, oh and your spare tire is a mod so they send a signal and destroy your ability to get to work the next day.

I will even make it easy Nah... but a vaccumm cleaner "CAR" is on a whole new level then a video game. It has one programmable function, it sucks shit up to clean your floor. It doesnt interact with other vaccumm cleaner owners to show off your leet vaccuum skills. Nor is it a piece of software that needs to be updated and not have its programming rewritten by 3rd party users. Blizzard supports and has supported hackers as long as they do it in their safe environment such as "i reiterate" OFFLINE MODE. fantastic times GARAK anymore lame arguments?
Eh some nerd just rage when people who have jobs and loved one seem to finish a game when they grinded 80 hours and wasted so much life they have to devalue someone else.

If It's offline, it's none of blizzards business.

It's damn right scary when these jackoffs look into making a new buck it's not how to make a better game, it's how to make you buy the old game again with excuses...

Your to close to a pc you might download cheat codes, your couch has a foot rest giving you better blood flow and a unfair advantage... your cat/dog licked/nuzzled the controller while you played, that's 3rd party game assitance...

Only a idiot would agree that this behavior is ok, oh they would IF they didn't take 30 seconds to think what the next steps they will take to leech a buck are.

tl;dr
I don't care about it either way, but it IS pretty ridiculous. It's like playing a game of chess by yourself and having the manufacturer come to your house and take the game from you because you "cheated" while playing against nobody.
