I wasn't interested in Blizzard's products in the first place, so sure, why not?

TL:DR:Didn't Care

The game comes with single player cheats built in that aren't any violation of the terms of use. Outside cheats, trainers or other such programs are violations of the terms of use. Don't be overly surprised if you gamble and lose when doing something that carries risk.

Read the article. TBH... i'm with blizzard. Assuming the 'ABSOLUTELY NO CHEATING UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES' warnings didn't apply to SP was always a gamble, and as long as they don't permanently junk your CD key for a first offense then fair play to them.

Holy shit! an internet boycott is working! Against one of the superest video game giants!

Also I probably deserved that.

My computer doesn't run their newer stuff, and I honestly couldn't give a damn about Blizzard anymore. I'll stick with my copy of Diablo 2 and Starcraft, and leave it at that

Hmmmm. Let's see if this will turn out any different from, say, all the other boycotts in the past [http://www.petitiononline.com/bctgst/petition.html] few [http://steamcommunity.com/groups/L4D2boycott] years. [http://www.tacticalrealism.net/forums/showthread.php?tid=884]

This boycott isn't going to go anywhere unless you can get a few million people and with Diablo 3 coming out, I doubt many people would be up for it.

Also THIS particular reason doesn't seem all that, well, "boycott worthy". So you can't cheat, big deal, now you have to actually play the game.

It is a bit over the boundaries of what they should ban you for, Maybe a week or two as a warning before a permanent one. But sill, since the it has in-game cheats there's no reason to do this, and as they've said, there's online benefits to cheating in single player.

Oh please, everyone knows user agreements are just there to make everything LOOK professional.

But it is more fun to boycott ;)

OT: I'm completely neutral on this seeing as I have never bought or played a Blizzard game. Activision though deserves to be spanked for letting Bobby Kotick run around insulting everyone.

You aren't kidding.

I just spend the better part of an hour reformulating an argument on that very topic, on these forums.
It's a fool's errand, and I the bigger fool for even committing such effort to it.

Eh, Blizzard is a part of Activision now so I guess that means I'm boycotting it anyway... well, except for Diablo...
Totally agreed. I'm completely torn about Diablo 3.
On one hand, this isn't the Blizzard I knew 7 years ago; this is the Blizzard that is run by Robert Kotick. A man who wants to force the gaming market to do things it shouldn't do.

On the other hand, there's Blizzard's technical skill, their gameplay, their presentation...it's still top-grade material.

Diablo 3 is proving time for Blizzard. Starcraft 2 is a great game forced into a terrible system (Bnet 2.0..ugh). Will Diablo 3 ask even more of the loyal customer?

?If you?re caught cheating in Starcraft 2, Blizzard, as per the terms in the EULA reserves the right to ban your battle.net account and/or CD key from ever playing again, online or off. In essence, it?s the language of the EULA that?s in question in the argument as Blizzard states that ?playing anything other than an unaltered game client violates the Battle.net terms or use. ?We strongly recommend that you avoid using any hacks, cheats or exploits.?

So getting banned for breaking their rules is bad?

Seems incredibly dumb. (Banning SP cheaters) Even if it is in their rules. >_> Oh well, another reason for me not to buy SC2. Even with my RTS fetish.

Also, OP overreact much! :X

THIS so much THIS I can't even begin to explain..

Blizzard GIVES YOU THE FUCKING CHEATS. Asks you to get skill and get the achievements the right way or choose to cheat and get no recognition for said cheating.

It's like lying to your parents about something they gave you permission to do with one stipulation. Idiots. Enjoy your ban. Companies like blizzard that give you all the tools necessary to do almost whatever the hell you want with the game then ask you follow some simple rules or get banned is why I will pay monthly to play games. as long as Blizzard keeps banning these fucking tossers that are trying to cheat i'll keep supporting them by giving them money. It's these kids that didn't play in the days before VAC or anti-cheat technology or monitored online gaming sessions that do NOT remember how NOT fun it was to play these games because of all the cheaters and spamming. I earned my achievements asshole, no go earn yours or GTFO

Can't forget that if you're cheating on SC2, while hooked to Battle.net, you're on Blizzard's servers. Which is 'their' property. Play online? You're playing on their property. Hacking/illegal cheating the game would be the same as hacking/cheating their servers.

Want to cheat? Play offline with the hacks. Won't get caught.
