The world isn't going anywhere. We are.

Personally I foresee a real life version of Fallout 3 that ends up wiping us all out.

Nothing made by humans could destroy the entire human race, someone will survive, aliens are likely to never find us, The US is soon (hopefully) enacting project star wars, pretty much the only thing that ensures the death of all the human race is the eventual heat death of the universe. only a few trillion years till doomsday

It's simple enough.

Souplex? Really? REALLY???

Religion? The laws of the universe breaking for no reason other than someone(s) says so? Doubt it.

Okay, I can see people worrying about nukes, but enough to destroy human life on all landmasses? It would be highly improbable to even get that much, let alone fire simultaneously with accurate coordinates to hit in the exact right spot.

The environment. Sure, global warming and what-not. But water EXPANDS when frozen. That means the poles melting wouldn't effect the waterline that much. And unless all plants died for no apparent reason, the atmosphere would be essentially the same, save the massive hole in the Ozone.

Space is BIG. There's a LOT of stuff in it. There's even MORE nothingness than that. Something the size of Jupiter, say, would still have trouble colliding with a peble like us. Science has proven that the sun still has plenty of Melenia (sp?) to make light for us.

Aliens? Do you need some pixie dust on the plasma reactor, or Pegasus wings stuck to the thrusters to get here?

And the world will end some day. Just look at these signs. The economy, war, the media, and so on.

Which leads me to my choice. The scientists. It may be to learn about the world we live in, but those cheeky bastards are too curious!

It's the end of the world as we know it
It's, the end of the world as we know it
It's the end of the world as we know it
and I feel fine

-It's the end of the world as we know it(and I feel fine) by R.E.M.

I love that song, but on topic: I think it will probably be a nuclear winter brough on by nuclear war.

Times I have edited this post for spelling mistakes:1

If too much awesome is focused into one point it can create a black hole killing everything. Didn't you pay attention during my last 3 hour lecture about how my awesomeness is reaching dangerous levels and I need to start being lame somehow?

The world is not going to end anytime soon and we are already working on getting colonized on the moon and giving mars oxygen.

Billions of years later our human race will still be alive and expanding like the universe.

Um... I'm not entirely sure I get the point of these sort of threads. Maybe someone can explain to me why humans fantasize about how the world ends. When the world ends, you end... it's as simple as that... unless we're too advanced a race that we don't need a planet. So what will you get out of this... you can't even have the I told you so after it happens, cause even if you actually survive, the rest of the world would be dead, so there would be nobody to boast your guessing to...

I was going to say nukes, but then i realized that it will probably be some religious nut who fires it off. therefore, "Something Religious"

Actually no. I wasn't. I was pre-occupied with being sane.

Easy. The population crisis causes us to exceed the Limit of Questions and the earth turns into a black hole.

The world is inevitably going to end, but not in our life time.

The Sun still has a few billion years before it dies.

The Earth will likely be engulfed by the ever expanding sun, five billion years from now, humanity as we know it we go extinct when some form of psychic human mutation arises or if we transfer our consciousness to machines. Either way it will all end whenever the universe finally dies.
Hurray for logic!
