I'd pick and choose what DD service(s) I want to use... if it's good I'll use if not... pass.

I tried to look into Origin and what it offers on their own site, and all the site did was try to sell me games at inflated prices. I've heard some countries have OK pricing from Origin, but the UK pricing takes the piss. Heck, even GAME prices were cheaper in some cases.

When I can get a boxed copy cheaper to my door, and the distribution method seems to have zero advantages, why would I use it? I can see why some people buy games new on Steam (even if the pricing isn't competitive), but origin seems to not have any use to me.

Of course Valve would just delete all your non-Valve games. That makes a shitload of sense, y'know?

I might just ignore that part and say I stuck with Steam and long since had ceased to care about other happenings.

I've already gone indie and ancient. That's not to say that I hate mainstream games; I've just found myself playing mostly really old stuff and independent titles. They're cheaper, often amazing, and you can run them without a top-of-the-line computer.

Surely 3 years into the future all the publishers will use a streaming service and all this will be a bit moot since you won't need to actually hand them money and probably just take the service that has loads of ads.

Recently I've not been playing games anywhere near as regularly as I used to.
In three years I won't have as much spare time or money, so rather than deal with this fiasco I'd quit gaming.

I'd carry on as normal.

I don't use Steam or other online platforms like that so i'd carry on getting my games from my beloved Amazon and playing the ones that take my fancy.

*IF* (and that is a big if) that were to happen, it seems rather likely to me that the various publishers would allow us to move our CD Keys from Steam to their DD platform before losing them on Steam, much like how EA allowed me to register my Mass Effect and Sims 3 CD Keys on Origin. As I feel no particular loyalty to Steam, I'd just get whatever download manager I need to play the games I want to play and not worry too much about it.
this, very much this, unless their ELUA is dickish like origins was, then that game(s) is an acceptable lose to keep spyware off my PC
