So... I do not watch this.. I just see that last min or so before the show I'm watching...
And... I don't get this.. They drink, they scream...then they scream some more..and then they look like some kind of freaks with a fake suntan from Mars.. Why does anybody watch this?
By just watching the commercial for this show.. I can feel my brain scream for mercy and my eyes start to clean them self with tears of blood...

So why does anybody watch this [beep]?

I can't decide between "People are insane." and "I'm a hamster."

I personally can't stand that show or the people on it.

i don't even know. i live twenty minutes away from where they filmed the first season and half an hour from the second. its aggravating because it seems to give people around here a sense of pride in the characters, like they're some sort of messiah. i hate it because they're all just arrogant pricks.

because people enjoy watching these people live our their painful lives.

We should pity them, for they know no better...

Ever see Idiocracy [http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0387808/]? The Jersey Shore is simply one step along the way.

So... I voted "People are insane stupid".

The whole show is terrible. Did anyone see the roast of Donald trump? The guy from Jersey Shore got booed off stage.

I'm a hamster!
Actually, I think people like watching it if they like watching glamorized reality shows.

Yay! I'm a hamster!

I feel proud of answering that first.

EDIT: Ok, I chose it first, and left to do something. Came back and posted this. Someone posted they are a hamster before.

I guess most people in Society like something that is simple and easy to understand.
Screaming and Drinking is pretty easy to understand and perform.

Its curious really. Whenever I try to reason why people do things, I can usually figure it out. But when I try to reason Jersey Shore, my brain goes in to some sort of auto portect mode by making me think of other things. After a short while I concluded that its just best to not think about it.

Your average novel is written at a seventh grade reading level. Not because your average person cannot understand anything written to a higher reading level, but because something intended for entertainment has to be easily accessible to widest audience possible. This is entertainment served up the same way. That it doesn't appeal to me doesn't mean I don't understand the overall appeal. It's dumb mindless easy to follow entertainment.

But I must add one thing. The South Park episode, when JS is taking over and they fight back... I really love that ep.. THAT is funny and interesting.

It's just feeding into the current trend of reality tv programmes. People want to see 'real' people on tv, not realising these people are no more real than any character in The Simpsons (who in fact have infinite amount of personality in comparison).

I also think that people who watch it would claim to not particularly enjoy the people on it, instead it serves as 'car-crash' tv, watching people make fools of themselves and do endless embarrassing things for the sake of their 15 minutes.

Funnily enough, what might be considered as some of the worst tv ever (Jersey Shore, Big Brother, endless talent shows) is coinciding with some of the best tv ever, such as The Wire, The Sopranos (I realise these ended a number of years ago, but reality tv has been popular for some time), Dexter, Mad Men, Breaking Bad and more. So at the very least there's plenty of alternatives.

You don't like Jersey Shore? No need to watch it.

It's because it indulges the same part of their brain that high school gossip did. Have you ever heard anyone talking about Jersey Shore? It sounds like they are telling a gossip filled story about some of their friends did.

It's best not to worry about the oompa loomp- I Jersey Shore residents, most of the time they do absolutely nothing to contribute to society and the South Park episode where they fight back was one of my recent favourites, Though Yahtzee probably put it best a LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG time ago '' America is segretated into many different groups, the guntoting rednecks that most prefer to ignore, the morbidly obese (and the anti-morbid) and that one group of orange retards up in the northeast region that everyone else in the nation pretends doesn't exist''

Because it makes them feel better about themselves. Either by comparing themselves to the scum on reality TV and patting themselves on the back for how sane and intelligent they are in comparison, or by saying "Hurrr, these real people are on TV...I'm a real person...I COULD BE ON TV TOO!!!"
