There is almost situation that can't be improved by jet-packs. Except of coarse a room full of high explosives.

the game needs to be properly designed around the idea of jetpacks. the reason it's so useless in reach is that bungie never re-dveloped their maps to allow for the possiblity of jetpacks, or indeed any other armor ability. this is why the new ivory tower sucks so much, is because the new armor abilities turn it into a broken camp fest

Flying in general is fun, why should the ability to fly at will be any less so?
I suppose it isn't exactly flying, not in the same way as a banshee or helicopter anyway, but it's usually a very prolonged jump.

What about the game Dark Void? In a game centered around the jetpack, there was massive potential, and no one can deny that there were some truly kick ass segments in the game.


The point being that jetpacks are awesome, but are simply implemented poorly in games. They do make everything better.
