I purchased Journey last night and was impressed by it on a number of levels. What did you guys think?

I choose the "Haven't played and I don't want to." option. It just doesn't look like it'd interest me or be my kind of game. Straight up.

Haven't played it, doubt I'll buy a PS3 just to play it. If it comes to PC I would though.

Only played about 20 minutes of it on a friend's console.

It's as good as people have been saying, so long as you don't mind a game without explosions or +2 strength.

Will definitely be buying it when I get around to it.

I think the simplicity of it is what made it for me. Flying up and down sand dunes and riding giant hammerheaded sharks made of carpets. All whilst only communicating by tapping the circle button, this was the first time in a long while that I've enjoyed a game so much with so few buttons.

I thought the game was fantastic myself. Sure, it was shorter than I expected it to be, but I had a blast with it.

I especially loved how the multiplayer works. With most games, the game will announce when a player has arrived or left a game. But the way this game handles things, it feels almost natural the way you meet other players. And you don't find out what their username is until after the credits. Plus when they actually do leave a game, their character doesn't just disappear, he sits on the ground and his body gets blown away like a pile of dust.

I'll try it eventually. I HATE how PSN (or whatever it's calling itself nowadays) doesn't have demos for all their games. I think that's BS considering most of their exclusive games cost $10 or more. It also doesn't help that since I don't trust them (or any game service) with my credit card info I have to go out and buy a PSN card first.

OT, it looks interesting and I'm always up for the trip off the beaten path. Still, $15 for a 2 hour experience seems a little screwed up. It's like there's some law that if you develop and artsy game (Braid, Limbo, Journey) you're allowed to charge more than the typical game.

I'm not big in consoles anyway. Steam will pick it up I'm sure.
It won't. It's part of a ps3 exclusive deal.

I also liked the way that the multiplayer wasn't telegraphed. My first encounter with someone else was a little flash in the distance, the other direction from where I was headed, and it wasn't until I saw them surfing down a sand dune that I realised it was another player.

No explosions?

At least tell me there is a chance to shoot something in the face,
Well... I did manage to scare away another player by singing at them very enthusiastically.

Does that count?

It does count.

Purely because it made me laugh and choke on the peanuts I was half way through chewing.

I did get a chance to play it sadly only once over and it is... beautiful, I really have no other word for it.
It's one of those extremely rare experiences that I'll probably remember for the rest of my life.

Have not played it yet. I would if I had teh monehs, but I don't (ME3 pretty much drained my games budget for a while). Really looking forward to it too. :( Aw well, it will still be there later...

EDIT: Ooh! Or it could come to PC! That would be great too!

Well, I was really interested in it, but its PS3 exclusive.

I really hate the console market when shit like this happens.

I'm glad it exists, but I don't plan on trying it. Exploration is actually pretty low on my list of things I like in games.
