As you may know the movie chronicle came out recently that is about a few boys getting a power(I would equate with the force) and it reminded me of another movie I like Jumper(which is a better movie than people make it out to be) and thought which would you prefer.

Jumpers ability- teleport anywhere(although I think theres the catch of having to have an idea of the place either having been there before or having a photo.)

or

Chronicles ability- telekinesis to manipulate/move objects however you want including yourself and strong enough to crush said object.

Teleport. It saves me a lot of time and money when I want to go somewhere like a holiday destination.

While I have seen neither of them but I would go with jumping. Sure I can be a superhero with the Chronicle powers but jumping would be more exciting (visit new and exciting places with a jump) and getting rich fast.

Jumping. The smart thing to do would be to use google maps to memorise a grid of locations around 100km apart in the world. Once you're at that location you can then just teleport ad hoc via local jumps.

I more or less understand what you're asking, it's just that sentence I quoted makes absolutely no sense.

But to answer your question, telekinesis. Being able to teleport places would just make me lazier.

Well most definitely jumping, though having telekinesis is cool and all, teleporting to whatever part of the world I you wish is way more up my alley, I would no longer need to have money to visit all those cool places I want to visit, I'd like to say that I'd try to be a super hero but with my physical strength, my lack of spatial awareness and my lack of reaction to danger [small](there's I reason I've been lit on fire over 10 times and I've cracked my head open 7 times!)[/small] even with those 2 powers at the same time I think I would be pretty worthless.

That's actually a really tough decision. The powers from Jumper seem objectively better - just about any goals I set myself, in terms of "steal £1,000,000 without getting caught", "travel around the world", "take over the planet", "acquire an ice cream" etcetera will be easier to achieve using teleportation, and it's definitely more subtle so a little less likely to result in my death.

On the other hand, if I can fly and throw tanks around the place like pebbles, my day-to-day life will be about a bazillion times more fun.

I suppose I'll have to choose the latter, no sense in doing things the boring way. Although I really don't think the powers are potent enough to give me any route to world domination (another sign that they're weak) I suppose I can manage without an enormous golden throne decorated with virgins.

Chronicles. It's a great example of why Telekinesis is one of the best powers. Those boys only practice it for a little while and they can mimic superstrength, durability, fligh and fling around huge objects. Imagine what you could do with a few years of practice in terms of fine contorl and brute strength.

actually in the movie chronicle, the power gets stronger the more you use it, theres no limit known but just know you coulde level multiple buildings in a matter of days.

Also jumpers can teleport anything theyre holding onto with them. but jumpers cant jump while being shocked with electricity.

also also neither are invulnerable and you can die, but the force power cant stop attacks if you lock on to whats coming at you.

Sure, the telekinesis itself is high-power, I'm talking about the "tier" that telekinesis is on. Any goal you want to achieve with telekinesis you can also achieve with teleportation, and the way you would go about it with that power is generally safer and more reliable, but less fun.

Going with Teleportation. Free, instant travel for life? Hell yeah! It would be cool to control stuff with my mind but teleportation has just as many practical applications.

I think that the teleporting would have a lot more practical everyday use going for it. I am also not sure if having a whole bunch of guys able to kill people with their minds is a super great thing.

I'd have to go with telekinesis. Anybody interested in building me a jumpsuit that can withstand some faster than light travel? I know, I know, I've gotta practice before I get that fast but I'll do it...or I could just pull everything towards me. Maybe I feel like seeing the Pyramids of Giza outside my window. Yup definitely telekinesis.

Hmmm.... Magneto or Nightcrawler...

Definately going with the Teleknesis! All that awesome power, and you could use any object to make yourself fly!!
