Poll: Just a poll about pirating.

Not the Somali ones. We all know deep in our hearts its wrong. Then again it's to the point we don't really care. Now pirate bay has been cut down and sued for 4.5 million. Is this the big wakeup call to make people stop? No probably not, they will appeal and everything will go back to the way it was. I am just curious how many are against it and how many for pirating?

I pirate mostly music...I probably have thousands of MP3 albums...And I probably dont even own 1% of that same library...

Also most musicians dont give a damn...only the record companies get hurt and most of them have a black hole instead of a heart!

Quite frankly I don't beleive any of the bullshit pirates come out with - they want expensive things for free because they can't afford them so the paying customer has to pay even more - none of this bull about "Its to expensive" (then learn to save), or "its not great quality" (then why do you want it in the first place).

It makes no sense to me - pirating is wrong and there is no way it can be argued otherwise.

If it wasn't for DRM coming from a large company, who have money to throw around.. It would be illegal for somebody to warrant how you use your damn pc.

This, basically. Except I only get free music downloads. I also use surfthechannel to watch old TV shows (like to catch up on missed episodes of Scrubs or Elven Lied, and so on), but I don't download them so it's not quite as bad. I adamantly refuse to pirate films or games, however. If I don't have the money, then I get it cheap on ebay (same if I can't find the stuff anywhere without pirating). Only music, that's my limit. However, as Sky said, it's still wrong and I know I shouldn't do it anyway.

Pirating is not stealing, It's copying without permission. If I download a CD I don't steal the CD from someone else, I get a new copy of it without paying. Big difference.

But still, It's not "right". Hard working muscicians, game-makers, whatever, deserves to be paid for their work. However, the people who constantly churn out the same crap over and over again does not. I pirate in order to discover what deserves my money, and what does not.

I literally would not even know about/listen to 90% of the bands I do if it wasn't for pirating.
Plus I prefer to support the band if I get to see them live.
That being said, I do prefer CD's (well I prefer vinyl but now I am straying off topic) but they get like nothing from it so meh.
