This shit really needs to stop, I agree. I'm still enjoying myself with New Vegas, but then again I'm not even halfway through my first run. While I haven't encountered a single in-game glitch so far, the framerate drops while running across country are a constant bother, and the frequent console crashes are beyond annoying... this can't be good for my poor little PS3. :\

It's still amazing how people don't wait for a few patches (and the price drop that comes with waiting) when they buy games, especially games from the usual offenders like Bethesda and Obsidian.

I played NV after the first few patches came out. Zero gamestopping bugs. Heck, the only thing that I noticed was when a gecko got stuck in a rock once. Granted, that was on the PC, but I didn't use any mods or such, just the game and the official patch. Perhaps the PS3 version is more screwed up?

the patch for NV on xbox worked for me, the game only crashed once, but other than that, the occasional freeze spree, long load time, or graphical screw-up didn't bother me much.
Besides, it's a giant sandbox game, they can't get all the bugs on a game with NV's size on the first run through.

I'm sure it is the worst version. It's pretty obvious the ps3 is low on their list of priorities but even my friends with the 360 version feel like they've been ripped off.

The only major problem for me with New Vegas is the loading times that spiral out of control once you've been playing for a couple hours. I've actually timed loading screens for the same area right at the start of a session and hours in and some loads can take upwards of 5 times as long once you've been playing. New Vegas has a serious memory leak problem.
This... so much. I actually find the loading screens in New Vegas utterly obnoxious, made worse by the large amount of to-ing and fro-ing through areas doing fetch quests, many of which only have fast travel points outside them.

The King's quests in Freeside were literally 80% loading screens, 20% talking to people. Ridiculous.

And why the fuck are there no fast travel points in the Strip, Camp McCarran or the Mormon Fort?

It looks like Gamers' Voice UK will be filing a complaint with the UK government similar to the one they filed against Activision for the problems (I personally didn't experience) with Black Ops.
Now while I didn't experience nearly any problems with Blops, I think that those who did should have their complaints taken seriously.

Give Fallout 2 a go without patching it to at least v1.1 and you'll see what I'm talking about.
This

Also this is a burden all of Black Isle / Troika / Obsidian games had. Also these three are considered the best "newer" rpg developers under the hardcore rpg players. (Well, the first two anyway)

Has anyone else had literally no bugs while playing NV? I had one instance in 80 hours of play where a companion disappeared and a couple times where enemy mobs would go for a swim in some rock. No crashes, no framerate issues (After the ATI fix of course), no game-breaking bugs.
My latest playthrough was pretty much that. A few NPCs spawned inside the terrain, and once my companions magically appeared in Vault 34 even though I had them waiting inside the Lucky 38... other than that, no bugs.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: the problem is the medium. Don't play Fallout games on consoles. You're just asking for your machine to eat itself alive.
