I can't give you any foolproof reason as to why my opinion on the case matters, but after some hard thinking and considering my feeling edges to "don't do it". I can't quite explain it, but it seems to me that in most cases 'staying friends' can royally fuck people up.

Well we never actually went out but we drunkenly kissed one night and I guess we're still friends. However I do secretly harbour feelings of hatred for her combined with a painful obsession over her, so I guess it didn't work out well in the end.

Don't do it, especially if you want her back. Its annoying as hell for all your friends. Theres a guy I know who's had this happen to him and he's constantly macking on her. She has him whipped. But she's too stupid to realize what she's doing to him. It's terrible.
"I just wanna be friends." The worst 5 words a girl could ever say to a guy. Roughly translated from girlspeak means "I can't stand you anymore and I don't want to have anything to do with you ever again."
