I just won $100 of a lotto scratcher and i was wondering out of these three was the better choice. Battlefield 3, Batman Arkham City, or Goldeneye Reloaded?

Surely it depends on what you're tastes are, no?

The Batman game looks alright. Basically Arkham Asylum in a big new map with some extra toys. I won't be buying it though, because, well... comic superheroes... bleh. But if that's your thing then it looks like you could do a lot worse than Arkham City.

Battlefield 3 is shaping up nicely. Played the beta. It was fun, albeit buggy as hell. Still not sure if I'm buying the full game.

Don't even know about the Goldeneye thing. Remake? Reboot? Either way, meh.

Do you want a realistic first person shooter? Go for BF3.

Do you want a stealth beat-em-up in the Batman universe? Go with Batman.

Do you want to relive the days of the original Goldeneye? Go with Goldeneye: Reloaded.

Or you can just give me the $100 I won't have nearly that big of a problem deciding what to do with it.

Or, OR, you can save the money, wait for the Steam christmas sale, and buy, like, everything.

I think you're forgetting something-

Yeah. Just alright. Nothing special.

OT: But it all depends on your tastes. If you're a shooter fan, go with BF3. If you're not, Arkham City.

But I also have to agree with this-

[Metacritic ahoy!]

Yeah. Just alright. Nothing special.
Uh huh.

And since when is "Metacritic says so" a valid argument? Man, that would sure make my debates about Half Life 2, Mass Effect 2 and Bioshock a lot easier. "They all scored 96. Therfore they are awesome, so shut yer stupid mouths!" Or how about, "Hey Dragon Age 2 scored 82, it's not that bad."

Problem is, there's no aggregating for taste. I am uninterested in Arkham City primarily because it's about a comic book superhero and, if Arkham Asylum is anything to go by, probably horrendously written to boot. Were that not the case, I would be all over it. Sadly, no amount of metascrore can remove the Batman from Batman: Arkham City, nor should it.

I'm all for Batman.

If the Beta was any sort of barometer Battlefield 3 isn't shaping up to much.
and Goldeneye? meh. Batman is way cooler than James Bond.

This a thousand times over.
If you're hot and bothered to get a new game, I'd go with Batman.
Battlefield 3 looks like ass (no, that is not the MW3 fan in me talking), and Goldeneye Reloaded can never top N64 Goldeneye.

SKYRIM!!!! BF3 if those are your ONLY choices for some reason. I really liked the beta even though a lot of people didnt and really enjoy the idea of actually catching up to the people that were lvl 30 on like the second day (damn lifeless people)

Wait, what? Surely the CoD ripoff rerelease cash in is the least likely of the bunch to pick?
Sorry to burst your bubble, but the Battlefield series was started two years before the COD series.

OT: I would choose BF3, mostly because I don't have much interest in Batman: Arkham City, and I loved the Battlefield 3 beta.

If you had to choose between arkham asylum, battlefield 2 or the original goldeneye, wich one would you choose?
I would choose batman because I think is the one I have not played a million times already. But I dont play multiplayer so if that's your thing then choose your thing.

1 year, actually. CoD started in late 2003, Battlefield in late 2002.

If you want to get really, really pedantic, the original CoD team was made up almost completely of the team that made Medal of Honor Allied Assault, for the PC, which came out in really early 2002.

On another note, you weren't "bursting my bubble". The CoD ripoff rerelease cash-in was referring to Goldeneye.
Ah, I see. I misread your comment. My apologies. BUT! I know that both Goldeneye AND BF3 are going to be in the Redbox if you want to try them out for 2 dollars a night.

let's see, another generic brown/grey FPS, an astoundingly atmospheric stealth/brutal melee/puzzler with a delightfully twisted story and characters, or a crap game that preys on people's nostalgia.

i'll go with arkham city.

From your selections, I would choose Battlefield 3 and Arkham City.

But if I had the money, I would buy Arkham City and Skyrim.
