Well, let's see. He's demoralizing, disrespectful, whiny, demanding, violent, immature, and I shouldn't have to remind you of the attire that Marter pointed out. (Not to mention how he also often wears his pants with massive amounts of underwear showing in public.) He's not gay, as many people there are that insist that he is, this simply isn't true. Rather, there's a whole slew of other things wrong with him.

And his music? No, it's still really bad. Not just in quality, but in message as well. Not to mention, it gets really repetitive. (As is the case with 99% of today's pop music, but still...) Then again, he doesn't write all of it. In fact, it's really not common for him to contribute to much more than the words "Oh, Baby" to any given song's lyrics.

And to be perfectly honest, I already found Michael Jackson to be quite terrible, as well.

To me you miss the point completely. It's about making money for terrible reasons, he doesn't deserve the fame at all. Just because there were many terrible pop musicians before doing similar things to make money isn't an excuse.

I believe (at least try to) that people will be rewarded for their efforts, talent and knowledge. So when I see this thing taking over TV and radio, it really goes against that. Of course I know he isn't the only one, I treat all the rubbish equally. I don't go around actively hating him though, I find that to be a waste of energy, just getting my word out every now and again is all I do.

Something else that bothers me about him is that someone once said on this forum that they met Beiber in person and he said that Beiber said "his music isn't special" (that was less harsh). I wish he would try to do something clever and clear his name. Clearly I don't agree with you on the vid you posted.

I'm not really a guy who listens to music all that much. I enjoy it, but I can't exactly...critique it or whatever. I also don't actively go out and listen to songs, and you would be surprised at what I haven't listened to.

That being said, I think the hatred for him is pretty much overblown. I always assumed people needed something to hate for whatever reason, and Justin was an easy target with very exploitable traits that may or may not have merit. I've only heard a couple of his songs, but they don't want to make me shoot myself in the head or think that he is destroying the music industry or setting it back X amount of years or whatever. I remember last Christmas he made a version of "All I want for Christmas" or something; thought that had a nice feel to it.

My first knowledge of him was through my sister (who loved him a lot) and I caught of glimpse of him on the TV. I was quickly confused if he was a boy or girl (apparently all the Video Games and Anime I have played/watched over the years didn't help for jack), and I was actually shocked when she told me he was a boy. Then she told me he was becoming popular with a lot of girls.

I simple shrugged and said, "Interesting". I then moved on.

I don't know why people have to hate on him to the extent that they have, but like I said, I'm not a real music type person. I find it very easy to just move on and not really care too much about him. Haven't exactly followed many stories about him, but I have no problems with him as a person I guess.

So...yeah.

EDIT: Also I clicked on the button and nothing happened. What gives?
Same here, was something supposed to happen? (Oh curiosity's gonna come back and bite me in the ass one day)

OT: I don't really hate the guy, but I do believe that:
A) He is overrated
B) His music is bad

So do I think he's a bad artist? Yep. Do I think he needs to burn in hell for it? Nope.

He's no worse than pitbull, katy perry, niki minaj or taio cruz (however you spell his name)
So relative to the question -Is Justin Beiber a BAD POP musician?- No he is not.
He's average in relation to today's popstars.

My friend's ex-girl-friend's best friend's colleague knew this prick. And he is an ASSHOLE, so my hate is warranted.

Hey, without Justin we would never have gotten this:

And that is epic...... So putting up with him is worth it.

I just wish we could get Pop Stars who are not named Justin.

He is bad for history because in the future people will look back and think people liked him and we'll all look bad because of it.
Have you noticed how it's usually the good music that survives? That is if you consider Justin a 'bad' musician. * Shrugs,* we'll see in a few decades.

Thanks to the power of choosing to direct my attention elsewhere, I feel no ill will towards the fella. Or anything at all really.

I, like many others seem to, don't really get the hate for him that others feel for him. It's not like anyone's going to even remember who this person is in a couple years anyway. Like all pop musicians, he will simply fade into the ether and be forgotten once his fifteen minutes are finally up.

The Beatles survived so the bad music does survive.

All I'm saying is that the mindless general population ALWAYS hates young male pop musicians, but if they stick around as they get older, you grow to respect them for living their whole life under public scrutiny and still managing to prove their merit time and time again.
Justin Timberlake never proved his merit as a musician. He was a shitty musician then, and he's a shitty musician now. He's a good actor, though, and he seems like a good guy.

As for MJ, well, I'm not a big fan, but he was probably the last decent pop act there was. His music wasn't just the same old shit over & over & over again. The songs on his albums actually sounded different from one another. Now it's all shit like Ke$ha and other women singing about what big whores they are, or kids like Justin Bieber, whose skills include having a voice that appeals to young girls and.... nope, that's it.

Look, I don't hate Justin Bieber as a person, but I hate his music for the same reason I hate Katy Perry's, Nicki Minaj's, Ke$ha's, and One direction's music; it's terrible, and it all sounds the same. Which is also the same reason I hate modern hard rock. It's really just a different form of pop music. I mean, can you tell the difference between Theory of a Deadman and Nickelback? I can't. Now, compare all those shitty pop acts with Phil Collins-era Genesis and MJ. Try to find two songs that sound alike.

And as someone else mentioned, he's famous for stupid reasons. If you took away his looks, he'd be nothing. If he was ugly, or fat, he'd still be searching for recognition on youtube. Yeah--people hate him for the same reason they hated Justin Timberlake; neither of them had any discernible talent, but they appealed to young girls, and they sold out stadiums because of it. They're selling sex to kids--legally. You could say the same for MJ, but even if he was ugly or something, he'd still have talent to fall back on.

Also: at least MJ had the respect to wear a fucking suit when he met the President, but we'll chalk that up to Bieber being a stupid kid. And I mean that in the nicest way possible; most kids are stupid. He'll look back on that and laugh.

'Usually.' The Beatles weren't a horrendous band anyhow; they may not suit your tastes but you can't deny they made quality music. Quality music that left a massive impact on the musical world, including Pop music.

I have nothing against beiber personally, However i do feel that the term "Pop Musician" is an oxymoron.
Pretty much this.
Is he a bad Pop Musician?
How the hell should I know, he's just a bad musician IMO for doing pop, and I cannot stand any of his music. I'm also not a fan of a lot of these pop or W/E dance moves. They hardly look like dancing to me, but hey, W/E, if you like that stuff you like it, but you're not going to convince me.

Wait! It's not the greatest, but there's been far worse out there! Remember Ke$ha? SHE'S BACK!

*Crowd mumbles to itself*

Now, let's remove this noose from my neck, if we all don't mind...
Wait, are you Taco-115 or Taco-117? I'M SO CONFUSED.

OT: I'm indifferent. I don't listen to the radio, so I've been exposed to very little of his music, and pop music in itself is something that I rarely search out.

I've never listened to him, nor will I ever.

You wear that to meet the Prime Minister? Get out. Right now.
Oh yea, little kid's a prick. He tweeted about it later too like he was looking down on Harper (admittedly, not a hard thing to do).

Also, after reading this, I have to say he's not a bad artist. I hate his music along with almost all pop music and I can't stand his fans but he's not a bad artist.

OT: Meh, I can't stand his music, but that doesn't mean I actively hate the guy.
If someone is stupid or new enough to not know about that button and not to click it, they deserve the torment they get >=D

OT: I really don't like his music. JB himself, meh. But his music is mind boggingly awful.
