Honestly, it took me ages to realize which songs on the radio were his, at first. The more generic the pop songs, the quicker my mind completely blinds out the music. I was also convinced it was a generic popsinger WOMAN singing.
This just prooves to me how he's the epitome of everything wrong with pop. Boring, generic, bland, forgettable, annoying, vanilla, super-innocent in every way, and aimed at little girls in his case. I'm ok with dudes being complete pussies, but he started embarassing. He's being whored out by massive companies that tell him exactly what he has to be like, for all the wrong reasons. He was chosen and build up by them, yet they proclaim how talent can (and WILL) make anyone a superstar. I'm not saying he didn't have potential, but these people could make most idiots into stars.
The embarrassing book, his "life story". This is for musicians who actually lived through a very long career and have something interesting to say. His womanizer-talk as if he bangs two chicks a day. Maybe he does, I would. A movie. In 3D. Everyone shoving this kid down your throat, telling you you're supposed to like or hate him. His obvious attempts to build a bad boy image, while avoiding scandals. Newspapers filling up when he got a new bland haircut. I would never expect this from my idols. It's all about image. They're testing their "psychology for dummies"-book, nothing else, and it sickens me that it actually works.
Yes, he got a good production team and certainly a lot of coaching. He's rich. This is all he does. I'm more concerned if he has any memorable style. Can he still be a good pop musician? Probably, but it's not saying much.
If he goes in that direction, fine, hit me up in 10 years. There's enough other artists that deserve and need more attention. But that's a hipster thing to say now.
