I feel like I should sue my parents. They never got me piano lessons as a child and now I really wish I knew how to play. That should do me a tidy fifty thousand don't you think?

If they were suing because their mother had locked them in a cupboard for weeks on end they probably wouldn't seem like such massive twats.

Novel way of getting back at your wife though. Bonus points to the father.

I will sue all the women who have turned my drunken ass down at bars.

Then I'll sue that one guy who I had an argument with. Granted, he was right and I was wrong, but getting told that I'm wrong really hurts, mentally, and I shouldn't have to endure that kind of treatment, because I am a star!

I will also sue my parents because the bike I got when I was ten, was totally the wrong color. Sadists. Don't they know who I am?

Yeah this is beyond dumb.

The.. I.. It just doesn't get any more stupid than this. It just doesn't. What?

That's pretty sad...

I wish I could sue my mother for not being there for my entire life.

This is even dumber than that lady that sued MacDs for the "hot coffee" scandal. See what I did there?

I think there was already a thread on this last week. What baffles me is what kind of lawyer would actually take a case like this? Then again they are lawyers and lawyers are somewhat akin to ravenous sharks so I guess it's not that surprising.
Well, lawyers use the law to make money. If the lawyer had one this case he just found himself a lucrative cash flow. Pretty soon you'll see commercials telling you that if you had a grievance against your parent you may be entitled to financial compensation call now.
Yeah, that's the part that scares me.

Despite the ruling, the Miner kids may get the accountability they were looking for. Garrity's attorney suggests that her client's legal fees may end up costing her more than 18 years worth of birthday checks.
I have to ask who exactly paid for the lawyers for the children?

Could she sue her kids for being bad children? Or for being greedy little fuckers?

Might wanna go back and read the article. I believe it was the Mother's Ex-husband who represented the kids in court.

lmao that explains that a angry ex husband and a few inappreciative kids, lucky the father is the lawyer or the father would have wasted just as much money as the mother. I also find it funny because those kids essentially just disowned themselves lmao I mean I know tons of kids who have gotten kicked out of there homes if I tried to sue my parents i'd be out on my ass faster than I knew what happened.

So maybe she wasnt the most loving parent, but c'mon. there are kids who are way worse then them with their parents. Kids who are actually abused, physically or mentally, and they dont sure for thousands.

This particular case does seem very frivilous and if no details have been left out then I agree completely with the judge's decision to throw it out. Still, we should not forget that there are hundreds of thousands of children and teens out there that face very real abuse from their parents every single day, and only an infinitesimal number of perpetrators will ever face any sort of punishment or consequence for their actions.

It's easy to rally on about entitled teenagers, but would you do the same if the news article was about a false rape accusation thrown out in court? Would we then be sitting here talking about how women these days are all "sluts" and "whores"? Isn't ageism just as bad as sexism?

There are people who should be sued for bad parenting. This kid? No. Some of my friends from religious extremist households. HELL yes.
