So along with Versus XIII becoming FFXV Kingdom Hearts III was announced.

It looks pretty tame. Its not over the top or anything which is nice. A quick shot of all the previous games with Sora talking and then picking up a new keyblade. The ending is the part I liked the most. If that is all ingame at the end then it looks sweet. A swarm of heartless chasing you? Really amps up the threat level of them. Also is it just me or is Sora surfing them for a second.

I'm grinning so much I'm afraid the top of my head is going to fall off. I really like the new art style, it really works. Even better is that they're finally using proper lighting, instead of having the shadows as part of the textures, which made some things look horrible under certain circumstances.

Also, looks like Flowmotion is back, and yes, Sora did surf on the wave of Shadows.

The trailer is very simple, but I like that about it.
I'm more happy just knowing that I will finally get to play a IMO true sequel to Kingdom Hearts II.
This game was beginning to make me understand how Half-Life fans must feel.

There's going to be the 1.5 HD remix soon on PS3, with a probable 2.5 to follow. I'd go with those, as the remixes have improved controls and include the Final Mix additions, which have not been released outside Japan so far.

Yeah, there was definitely some interesting stuff going on there. The keyblade Sora picked up on the beach was very different. With the pink in it, I almost thought it might be Kairi's or something, but then he had the kingdom key in the last part. And then the flowmotion stuff, which was so crisp and well-rendered it looked like a cinematic but they had the hud on there, which can only mean that was a gameplay test, of sorts. Not a demo like most gameplay trailers, but a test of the a engine they've developed to handle all this stuff. There was definitely some tweaking of the camera angles to make it look more cinematic, but I still think that was supposed to be an accurate depiction of what they're going for with the gameplay.

The 1.5 HD rerelease on the PS3 comes out this fall, which has 1, chain of memories, and the cutscenes of 358 redone to make a coherent story without the game attached(I assume, and probably just for lack of disc space, or lack of innovative gameplay). They should do a 2.5 with the rest(except maybe Dream Drop) later, and that should cover it all. However, if you don't feel like playing 8 different games in all, the main three should give you enough exposition to go on to understand what you're doing and why, but I would highly recommend playing all of them, because they all offer some pretty stellar stuff. Also, read the report or diary entries or whatever they're called in that particular game, they contain information that really give you understanding to the universe and why things are going to hell, and even a look into the villain's mind.

Eraqus', and last we've seen of it it was with Aqua in the Realm of Darkness.

And yeah, it probably was a test of the engine, and I doubt we'll get the cinematic thing in-game, unless they bring back reaction commands (which they might). I'm so giddy right now!

OH, and on topic with the actual discussion. Well, it was a good and bad thing for the Sony conference in my opinion. For one, it confirmed my choice of getting a PS4. However, it made everything after it just seem like background noise(though I did shout for joy at their blatant middle finger to the Xbone about used games and online connection). It would have taken the unveiling of The Last Guardian or Half-Life 3 to get me that pumped again, and even then they'd have to be launch titles.
