I like the whole idea of kiss greeting. Pretty rare to find in the US outside of close family situations and couples of course. It's just more intimate I feel. It means a hell of a lot more than a handshake. If it were more accepted and I knew my friends wouldn't mind I would greet them with a kiss on the cheek. Alas I don't live in that kind of place. South Carolina.

On Topic, I live in Ireland, and we wouldn't really kiss people to greet them, unless its an aunt or old lady. It's seen as more of an old fashioned thing if you aren't actually going out with the person.

Mostly a hug for females (unless I'm involved then a kiss on the lips) & a nod for males.
Girlfriend's father always likes to have a handshake everytime we meet though...
That's just my family though, lots of other people give out kisses like candy (usually on the cheek) but that's just how I roll xD
