I'm hoping for an eventual PC release as it looks really good. Considering they didn't release RDR on PC I won't hold my breath.
I am aware. That is why I said "with no mindless murder of hookers and innocents"philosophicalbastard said:You do realise its the exact opposite of GTA, a game where the investigation and solving of crimes are a key gameplay feature, not a mindless shootem' up.Tsunimo said:My friends are exploding with excitement.
All I see is GTA IV with no mindless murder of hookers and innocents.
Kinda like Red Dead Redemption was just GTA IV in the old west.
'Course I never really payed attention to the stories of those kinds of games anyway, just the gameplay. Oh well, not like my not buying will bankrupt them or anything.
I've played some really brilliant point and click games, and this looks a little bit more advanced.Togs said:Looks like the modern day equivalent of a point and click adventure, struggling to see how its actually gonna be worth the £40.
But hey Ive been wrong before.
I like it but at the same time wonder how they are going to integrate it. I think it would be best to not have the successful outcome of the case be what progresses the story but rather have the stroy's progress continue no matter how you play the case. (You could be wrong on every case and reach an outcome to the story.) Basically, I am hoping for multiple endings I think.DefinitelyPsychotic said:Yay my thread has been (temporarily) revived!
OT: What do you guys/gals think of there being more Interrogations and Crime-Solving than gunplay?

I don't mind that it is more investigative than action packed. I just hope that it isn't railroaded as that would take a notch off of it's replayability. I wouldn't mind even if the ending was the same every time but so long as the progression of the story isn't dependent on your solving of the cases. "You guessed wrong, reload last save" would cheapen the experience for me. But they have said this could lead to being demoted and such so I have confidence in this area.
Ummm... Shutter Island was only $10 to watch. $10 for a non repeatable experience is a lot different than $60 for one.Morten Dall said:I really look forward to it. People might complain about the replayability but I don't agree with that. It is just as replayable as Shutter Island (or any movie with a big plottwist) is re-watchable. I for one loved the mood and story of Red Dead Redemption and now I look forward to a similar experience in LA Noire.
I prefer it to having the game have to have the same puzzles being solved every time you play it. Honestly, one of the things that keeps me hesitant of Portal 2 is the fact that the game is a 1 shot experience. I don't think that makes something a bad game in and of itself and obviously others would agree. But it is being held over L.A. Noire's head like this is an unforgivable offense. (This coming from a guy who is on his 4th playthrough of the Uncharted series.)DefinitelyPsychotic said:As far as you getting demoted, that seems a little bit cheap as well doesn't it? I mean I can understand you getting demoted (or even incarcerated) for shooting a suspect without proof. But if they demote you for making a simple mistake in a case (that doesn't involve somebody innocent getting killed), I don't see any logic in that...
