I don't use cheats to progress a story, but I use them for the AWESOME value so I can have fun.

I specifically remember using cheats in Hitman to nailgun people to walls and make them float around in the air after death.

So I vote right!

They are fine as long as you don't use them to beat the game or advance your position. if you already beat the game or are just have a little bit of time and want to play around then go ahead

I think all games should have cheat codes. I don't use them personally, but if a developer wants to maximize the appeal of a game, they need to add as much as possible, and cheat codes should be easy and quick to impliment. Removing cheat codes just lowers the value of the product to that audience.

Maybe instead of having "cheats" there should be things more like "mods" that can make the game easier, harder, or just different. Good ole invincibile and unlimited ammo is always good, but what about 3x as many bad guys? or what about headshots = explosion? or what about 10x bad guys, headshots = explosions, and unlimited ammo? I prefer not to use cheats that just allow you to blow through the game and not actually have to use any skill to play. But having mods that alter the game to your liking while keeping it a challenge is really what i would go for

I love the cheats of Uncharted.. Like Doughnut Drake, that's just hilarious. And things like black and white and slow-mo can make the game look incredibly epic.

Cheats are totally right, unless you're playing the game seriously/for the first time.

I just use cheats to mess around and have fun, or when a game is being unfair and I just want to unlock things in single player so I can have more fun.

I am all for cheats. Devs should have invincibility cheats in every game (for single player modes). Please read on before you start flaming me.

How many of you have complained about a game being to easy? That the game just requires you to have 2 opposable thumbs and you can see the end? Asked where is the challenge? One of the main reasons games are so easy is because they are becoming more mainstream. So to keep people buying then they need to be accessible to more people. A new player is going to get discouraged being raped for the millionth time. Cheats could be the balancing factor here. For the hardcore player who thrives on the challenge they do't need to use them. For the casual player who is just there for the ride they can be happy. And for those who cry foul because they beat it without the cheats and think it is unfair that another didn't I gotta ask does it matter? If you wanna prove how awesome of a gamer you are take it online. Or take pride in the fact that you didn't use cheats since at the end of the day the only person who really cares is you.
