I think it might have been... yeah, probably about a year ago when I purchased myself a copy of the Nightwish album Once. I buy albums all the time mind you, as I compulsively acquire new music (I've picked up 5 conventional albums and two massive 99 tracks a-piece compilations over the last 8 days), just not in physical CD format - anymore I purchase my music as a digital download. The only reason I even purchased that particular album as a CD was that it wasn't available at the time as an MP3 download from my online retailer of choice.

Music Cd's? do they still make those?

wow...umm. A long time? 1998 I think and that was a self produced thing at a concert . There are two ways I like music:

1)live,listening to music any other way ust isn't the same. On that I mean really live without any processing between the band\singer and myself. Even metal bands are fucking that one up at the moment with extra 'loud' being added by computer.

2) The rest of the time I love internet music services. I just type in what I want an a bunch of similar stuff plays, often bands i would never have heard of otherwise.

Never, I've always prefered digital copies to physical ones.

Two weeks ago I bought Bring Me The Horizon's new album. It's great but not as good as their previous album
Tomorrow I'm going shopping to get My Chemical Romance's new album (this band get such a bad rap but I don't see why, they're brilliant) and I also wanna get Frank Turners newest album and 36 Crazyfists' newest album... and Devil Sold His Soul's new album as well... amongst others

I bought Barenaked for the Holidays about two weeks ago when the BNL were in town for a concert. Lets see and a feww weeks before that I bought the latest Regina Spektor cd. True most of my cds get converted to go in my ipod but I like to have a physical copy just in case. I've had my computer be destroyed by viruses twice and losing most of the downloaded music sucks. I still download from Amazon from time to time.

A week or two ago, Molly Lewis: "I made you a CD but I eated it" and before that the Scott Pilgrim Vs The World Soundtrack.

I prefer having physical media, means I can listen to it if the internet should ever drop out or anything.

Last CD I bought was from a car boot sale, I couldn't believe I got Chris Morris's 'Blue Jam' for a quid :D

To the uninitiated it's black as pitch comedy slowly rolled out over a strange mix of ambient tunes.

Makes 'Mock the Week' look as 'edgy' as 'My Family'

I think the last CD I bought was something by Dean Martin, or maybe the Decemberists? Found em cheap at a garage sale and my old lady likes em...

Its ok though, I am gonna make up for that fairly lame choice by getting the new Death! Death! Die! CD as soon as I can; if you want a laugh check out their website http://deathdeathdie.com/ its nice when people first learn HTML...

Lately I've given up pirating music altogether, and I was never a fan of legal MP3 downloads. It's gotten a little better since iTunes removed their DRM, but I'm still not a fan. The only time I download nowadays is if I need one specific song and can't be bothered to buy the album.

There's just a certain charm in a CD collection that a digital music library can't beat. It's the whole collecting deal, if you have all the world's music within the reach of a couple of clicks, that takes the fun out of it. I guess I just find some kind of satisfaction in seeing that pile of CDs grow ^^

Oh and Spotify ^^ If it wasn't for Spotify I'd still be going with "try before I buy"-piracy. Seriously, god bless Spotify.

I bought a CD last week (Manowar's new Battle Hymns MMXI) but I will never listen to it. Pre-ordering the CD got me high-quality DRM-free MP3s, which are what I will listen to forever. The CD is there just to serve as a physical artifact.
