Poll: Least favorite genre of game?

RTS. Because I suck at them and I never get better, which basically means I have less fun in the long run (for me).

I can't stand sports/racing games. If I wanted to go play sports, I'd go and actually do them, instead of pushing buttons in front of a screen.

Never played an MMO, simply because I can't justify buying the game, then paying p/m to actually play it. Just buy an RPG instead!

I agree with this post wholeheartedly, except for the fact that I love FFIX. xD

JRPGs actually aren't real RPGs, in my opinion. This doesn't mean I don't like them. I love the 16-bit classics like FFVI, Chrono Trigger, and Super Mario RPG, as well as more recent games like FFIX and Golden Sun (and I've heard that the Shin Megami Tensei series is great too... is it?). However, they don't allow you ANY control over your characters' stat growth, which is something I adore about WRPGs. Besides, the stories of the more recent ones are crap. WRPGs have really taken over the genre in recent years.

Only recent WRPG's that I really disliked was Mass Effect because it felt so much like KOTOR. Just felt like you could replace the good guys with the republic and bad guys with the Empire and you have practically the same game. I cringed when the council gives you that speech when you become a spectre.

I was annoyed when Old Republic was announced because now il have to play that if I want to find out what happened to Revan and the Exile which is why I suppose they knew it would make money. But I suppose thats is what Wookiepedia is for.

As you said fact you cant control stats or even something as simple as appearance just kind of ruins the entire point of it being a RPG for me. I am a Fallout 3 and Oblivion man myself pretty much because it's high amount of customization and also the amount of free DLC you can get.

Another trend I am hating, is DLC. More so DLC for games like Sims3 where it's pure extortion.
