I am right handed, But for some odd reason i use my left one for alot of things. So i do think i might be slightly ambidextrous. But i voted right.

Btw Im left-handed. Also no jokes about how your right-handed but use for left hand for alone time.
Well I'm out.

But seriously. I'm one of the oddities, who can do both. Use the right and left for all kinds of things. And I started out lefty and never found right handed stuff an issue. I just picked up the use for both as I went along

I am ambidextrous in the sense that I have terrible hand-eye coordination and both my hands are equally useless.

Where does that put me on your poll?

I went with the "left hand for everything" option even though it isn't entirely true:
- I am extremely left-dominant but I do use my right hand/arm for throwing things, e.g. bowling balls, baseballs, punches.
- Nowadays I prefer to use computers left-handed, though with the exception of drawing I rarely have problems using it the "right" way.

I've heard that lefties are supposed to be more creative than righties, apparently by some virtue of needing to always think outside the box in order to use things that are not designed for them, but I don't know if I can get behind that argument. All I know for sure is that lefties are certainly more adept at using their off-hand than righties.

I'm not actually ambidextruos, but cross-dominant on the left arm. I can do almost everything with my left hand, but I can also do most of the things with my right hand (except writing and cutting with a scissors, though, I'm improving my writing).

Right-handed. Though apparently I eat like a left-hander (fork in my right hand, knife in my left), but nearly every other right-handed person I know does the same thing so whatever.

And I feel no sympathy for you left-handers. It's awkward using scissors, you need to buy special ones? Boo-hoo. And I severely doubt that which hand you use affect your creativity or lifespan.
Average lifespan is low because of the power-tools designed for right handed people. Accidents happen more often.
And right or left handedness is determined by which side of the brain is more active, or something like that.

I'm a lefty myself and love it.

The way I look at it we left handed people are better fit for instances of survival against other people say in a quarantine situation. Because the general population is right handed odds are they're not going to be used to fighting someone who is left handed because we do things differently. Take for example this excerpt from a boxing match in 1947 from wikipedia
"A variant of the above argument says that Left-handed people have an advantage in fighting without weapons, because of a "Surprise" factor. This tactic is well-known to boxers and was employed to world-record effect on November 4, 1947, when Mike Collins, a natural left-hander, emerged from his corner in a right-handed stance before suddenly shifting left and delivering the fight's first and last punch, knocking out opponent Pat Brownson in 4 seconds."

We lefties would be ideal for laying siege to a castle, ever been to one? The point I'm getting at by that is the way the stair case is built ascending counter clockwise that way if we swing a sword it's going to cover most of the stairs without grounding the sword into the wall. If we were chosen to defend the castle then yes, we'd be at a disadvantage.

Also, take a look at your right hand right now. Where is it? If you didn't take the time to notice the odds are it's on your mouse. We have the option of writing and scrolling at the same time letting us finish our work a bit faster. (No, not the dirty work.)

Righty just got served (Except when it comes to modern day inventions. CURSE YOU SCISSORS!

I'm right handed, use the left had occasionally for writing and drawing so it doesn't get rusty. I've known closely four left handed people, and none of them have ever complained about how right handed centric the world is. You get used to using your right hand for certain things, and I have no problems using my left hand to operate a mouse if someone has it on the left side. I do feel bad for lefties as far as operating bolt action rifles is concerned, but they do have the advantage as far as semi and fully automatic rifles with the ejection port and bolt being on the right side.

I'm ambidextrous.... it rocks.
Doesn't it? I am left handed and some tasks feel odd when I do them with my right hand but I can do them. The only thing I do many times better with my left hand is witting.

I'm a lefty, through and through. And yes, most things are designed for righties. The only area where that really cheeses me off is the guitar department (being a bassist). Barring a specialty store (of which there is ONE in the US), there'll usually be between three and no left-handed guitars in any given music store.

Also rather annoying is the notion that the only difference between a lefty and righty guitarist is that a lefty _learned_ on a left-handed guitar. Which is bupkis, frankly.

And the left-handed rock band sounds awesome. Imagine Hendrix on guitar, McCartney on bass, and.... I dunno, some guy drumming.
Dominic Howard on drums.
Yes. Epic.

Left handed shouldn't be a problem with guitar or bass just redo the strings the opposite way.
Well, you can, but the nut (the part of the guitar at the top of the neck that keeps the strings spaced) is most certainly "handed," and even then the knobs and pickup switches will most likely get in the way. most acoustic guitars even have handed bridges.

actually, keyboards are designed for left-handers. Keys for more commonly used letters (i.e. E, T, and S) are all on the left side of the keyboard. Either this is so you can type things with your left hand and click the mouse with your right, or so you can type "Sex" with your left and and use your right hand to...well, you know.
Keyboards are designed to slow down right handed people.

When typewriters were first introduced, they had all the letters in alphabetical order, but people learnt to type too quickly and the machines jammed often because they couldn't keep up. A new layout was introduced which slowed down most (i.e. right-handed) people, so there were fewer jams.

EDIT: I also just counted up the results of the poll so far and it implies that 26% of the escapist is left-handed. Considering this is about 8% in a typical group, the escapist is unique. It can't be a coincidence.
