Does anyone else here still find Lego incredibly awesome, despite being outside of its target age demographic? I feel the company has gone downhill somewhat, but Lego itself is still awesome, especially what some adult fans do with it.
Proof of awesomeness below:

I was more of a K'Nex kid, but I still enjoyed LEGO, and I guess I always will

My legos reside in a box under my bed, unused but not forgotten. I keep em just for the fun of it, legos are freaking awesome.

LEGOS are probably the best toys ever made.

I forgot where this site was but there's an extensive collection of large space vessels made out of legos. They are all unique (as in not from Star Trek, Star Wars or any other TV series).
The guy had so much detail in each ship.

There are a bunch of sites like that. The adult lego fanbase is actually fairly large. I saw one guy who built a completely to scale medieval cathedral that was about 6 feet high out of lego. It was pretty impressive.

Legos literally were the building blocks of my youth.
I personally always laughed at the Lego ads because they would leave the kid's hand in there.
I mean, seeing them build up the giant castles was great, but use wires or something when you have the helicopter/plane/rocket going off, not some 8 year-old kid's hand.

I used to just make houses out of it. I kept it in a big bucket, and created all sorts of crazy things.

I used to play with Lego ALOT. So much so, that my dad built me a large 10' by 5' wooden playing board with a pulley, that could be pulled out of reach of smaller, destruct-ful children. But that has long since been reused as compost siding and the pulley now holds a large spider plant. There are a lot of projects like the links posted, and if I wasn't so lazy, I would find that one site where a guy built a full size car out of the stuff.

I used to make neighboring towns in different parts of my room and have them wage mass war... then I found civilization which let me do the same thing but with better graphics but without the creativity... good times.

I have me a nice armada of lego ships and army of Medevil Lego soldiers. I don't even know why the 'grew out of it' is an option... I mean come on lets face it lego is not something to grow out of. Its ENDLESS creativity.

Me and my friends build giant citadels and wage bloody war against each other.

It's great.

LEGO is largely responsible for who I am. I've grown up with it, from duplo to the robotics competitions that I participated in (and won!) in elementary school. I've just recently gotten back into it, after a lapse of a couple years. Behind me right now is my 9v cargo train complete with a train shed, workers, and just recently added, cafe corner and green grocer (great sets, buy them, they're worth the price) I can see this getting out of hand (in a good way) when I have more money and space.

I just found the zombie thing mentioned earlier. Seems it was a collaborative effort where a bunch of people all made a model and put them all together to create the Zombie Apocafest. There's a nice L4D billboard in it. The grey truck with the flamethrower is the definition of awesome, as is the fact that a few of the people who made the models got to tour the Valve offices.
