Escapist fans! Let's settle this. What do you prefer, a realistic shooters (Call of Duty and Battlefield) or the sci-fi shooters(Games like Mass Effect or Resistance)?

>Implying there was ever a conflict over which genre was preferred.

I like good shooters.

Doesn't matter what I'm shooting and in which location in the Omniverse I'm shooting them.

There are more things in Heaven and Earth, Horatio, than just Realistic and Sci-Fi shooters. What would you call Max Payne? Or The Darkness? Or Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines? Or any number of games that do not fit in the categories of 'Realistic' or 'Sci-Fi'?

By realistic you mean modern day? What about world war 2 shooters like Red Orchestra?

I do not see your crazy moon logic cartoon shooters good sir. Though that's irrelevant because I lean slightly toward sci-fi, just more opportunities available. It's just a shame most "realistic shooters" are better than sci fi ones anyway.

CoD is super realistic.

Doesn't matter how far away someone is, bullets will always hit what you're aiming at with no deviation whatsoever.

Just like real life.

Oh right yeah I forgot. And I forgot that you can heal bullet wounds by hiding behind a table. It's a wonder anyone dies from bullet wounds.

People who die from being shot are just noobs who can't dive behind a wall quick enough.

Real pros jump off of ledges, do a 360 turn and no scope dudes using aim assist.

Just like in real life.

If I could do that, I'd go to Oakland more often.

Actually The Darkness and VTM: Bloodlines count as Sci-fi. Horror featuring monsters is a sub-genre of science fiction.

Are you kidding me? They're what's called Fantasy. Sci-Fi is shorthand for Science. Fiction. There's about as much science in Bloodlines as in My Little Pony. You gain the ability to call something like Bloodlines sci-fi, you can pretty much call anything Sci-Fi, right down to The Lord of the Rings. It's -Urban Fantasy-, look it up sometime.

Going with sci-fi on this one for a few reasons. First: I'm a nerd, I love sci-fi and I prefer any universe to our own. Second: there has been an abundance of "realistic" shooters recently and I like to keep things interesting. Any game that has some weapons other than the stock earth military rifles will immediately be more intriguing to me.

Hey, I take offense to that. My Little Pony has lots of science

Neither. Most shooters today are way too boring.

Half-Life is the only one I really like, so I guess sci-fi?
